Been looking into one of these. 19 inch and quite heavy, but it’s compact and fits in a flight case. Price is obviously high, but considering all the use cases it’s extremely tempting.

One thing that’s stopping me from buying is that I would also eventually need to get an interface with all the needed IO for the maximum DAW/hardware combo.

Yes I am using the passive mixers with modular levels and those route into the powered rolls. Everything seems quite happy with no attenuation.

I just picked one of these up!
Apparently they where designed by Paul Wolff of api
I haven’t even had time to hook it up but man it’s well made. Quality everywhere
Its a clean Japanese 80s Sony so no neve (my old band mate had one) and they where meant for broadcast and have a control system that hooks pretty hackable
Anyways they’re still pretty cheap so if you find one I’d grab it
5v control system, seems made for modular -

That ssl six looks kinda unbeatable at this point if you can stretch a little further

Bumping this up a bit, how did you like the LPZW mixer?
I have the exact use case, my mixer is a Worng Soundstage into a Intellijel mixup for a few unfiltered inputs with mutes. Im looking for some small mixers for fx sends

Was set on the antumbra 6 mix, because of the mute switches, but having the mutes stuck between the pots and jacks looks cramped. The LPZW looks a bit neater for fx sends

Thanks for the reminder.

So far Plagwitz is great. It also has the obvious benefit of 4 common ins and 2 unique outs and levels per ouput. You can easily patch pre and post effects sends per input channel. With a switch you can even select the routing dynamically. The mutes are handy. My only complaint is that the top trimpots are a bit closer to the input jacks than they need to be, so they can be a little trickier to turn. Stack cables also make for a tight squeeze on the inputs. I haven’t had trouble managing the trimpots in a patched case, but I would recommend being thoughtful about where you place it in your rack.

I have no issues with accessing the mutes on the 6mix with cables plugged in to the top jacks.

I’ve been looking hard at this wee mixer and the other LPZW modules - I’m especially intrigued by what their expanders could do for both the Plagwitz and the Schleußig.

I have to echo this sentiment as well. All the new smaller Mackie stuff I’ve tried has been surprisingly poor in quality. I opted for the Yamaha MG06 and I’m fairly happy with it despite being left wanting an aux bus.

One of the few compact mixers I’ve seen with a pleasing aesthetic:

Kinda points back to the point made earlier that the nicer boutique compact mixer are all pretty crazy expensive.

agreed! it’s unfortunate. Maybe a good opportunity for a company to step in with a $600-ish solution…

~$5500-6600 USD. oof!

our mackie has some absolutely mysterious problem where under duress during a soundcheck it stops putting out any audio at all but has the VU meters jammed fully in the red even with all the channels turned right down, then after borrowing someone else’s for the gig, magically works perfectly again when troubleshooting it back home :-/

Here’s a minimal mixer I made 6-7 years ago. It’s a very handy stereo mixer despite the janky exterior.

nice. Been thinking about doing the same for some time now. Looks awesome.

I would have gone with the warmer sound of cinnamon, but to each their own.

This could be about as minimal as it gets as it’s passive. Seems kinda cool though and is absolutely affordable. Less than $20 usd

I’ve been enjoying this as a 6 channel, panned eurorack mixer. Controlling it with part of a 16n faderbank at the moment. If it wasn’t for the txn it would be completely passive come to think of it.
