hi, I have a little question about the chainlock, hope you can help me,
I build one, but the output of the chainlock is very…very low.
Do you know what it can be or how to fix this?

Yo! I’m not sure that I can, honestly… at least with the circuit itself. My Chainlock output is quite low as well. I tinkered around with it after firing it up for the first time, but nothing really worked, and there’s little to no solid information about it beyond myths and legends, esoteric concepts involving wind, etc.

However… I sort of remedied this issue by including a small, basic mixer in my build so that I could adjust the levels between Chainlock and Spikering and get them (relatively) on the same field. As a result of boosting the volume, mine was introduced with a slight hum that I can’t get rid of. In a nutshell, it’s a weird one! In terms of sound, mine doesn’t do all that much aside from generating pings that sound like a finger flicking a glass jar. That said… it’s an incredible modulation source for Spikering, which is primarily what I use it for. It’s especially handy when patching into Spike’s FM inputs!

I saw your build on Instagram… looks nice! Even if you use that free space for an Ultrasound, you should still have room for a small mixer if you decide to go that route. I used Richard Brewster’s Rollz-5 mixer.

My GAS for this is unimaginably high. I borrowed a butterfly benjolin a while ago, and it was fun, but too big and I didn’t enjoy the look of it . This is the opposite, so cute, and far less money.

ANY CL Instrument can be rigged with a Solar Panel
all ya gotta do is make an adapter with a spare battery snap, be sure of snap orientation for connecting 2 together and voila, solar panel instead of battery to the battery snap

It has an audio in, and clearly patching it into itself is encouraged in true Ciat style. The green frog case is so cute! What a sweet tribute to Rob Hordijk.

Peter redesigned the Benjolin to work with positive voltage only / Mido, and thus brings it into the banana world. Might we expect alternate future Benjolins containing a golden radio? Two golden radios? Alternate exponential converters? Thousand years medieval time ahead, anything could happen.
