Whoa, i never would have thought of that - thank you!

ROLZ Strip Gerbers up for grabs  - Great for adding Rolz to an existing project box, or for making a little standalone Rolz box.

You can also trigger DH through its Orange jack with the Orange and Grey outputs from avdog or gong too.

For ex

If you have any other cl gear it’s good ideas to experiment and maybe find other outputs that trigger the DH as well.

Have fun!

These are great ideas, thanks for sharing, it amazes me how deep the rabbit hole goes.

A challenge —one thing I’ve tried often but never succeeded at was pinging a Gongue from my other CL instruments: Coco and Sidrax. There’s the Coco yellow out but that’s about it, apart from recording Quantussy pulses into the looper and using the audio. I was a bit miffed at not being able to play the Gongues from the Sidrax CV outs.

Only thing I’ve found is if the power on Sidrax is OFF, then the signal’s at the orange barre press or release can be used to trigger gong/avdog. go figure?

edit: on second thought if you have a format jumbler you can also run the press/release or red audio out from sidrax through the coco preamp and use the white preamp audio out to trigger gong or avdog!

Amazing, that may also answer a long standing question in my head…why does the Sidrax have an on-off switch??

I would never have thought of switching it off and trying it

btw Ground out gets you same as Red out through Coco preamp, much better being able to use the barres though. Also preamp technique works with Quantussy too.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some resources for interesting tunings on Sidrax? I’ve been really interested in trying to do more with non-western scales but I’m not sure where exactly to start.

Weird aside but I was with my partner at a local Nepali restaurant (first time eating curry in a restaurant in over a year!) and when I was listening to the music I noticed that every song had a drum beat that alternated between two tones. My immediate association was “omg I can do that with PB gongues!” and now I’d like to assemble the rest of the band!

Also interested in any other tunings that people like with their Sid, I’m a big fan of tuning it like a kalimba.

oh yeah! i got coco not long ago, i’ll definitely try that too.

my productivity has been majorly hampered by an impending move, i can’t wait for that to be over so i can get back to work! with a little in-home studio no less!

Let me just echo how great these patches are. Even with all the inputs and outputs on a PB, one can sometimes get into an operational rut, following the same pathways. So these nifty and simple connections you’re sharing are like an entirely novel point of view, which of course opens new pathways, including those of the neural variety. Thanks!

Just thought of something else that works, and more versatile, to use the Meng Qi Brass format jumbler with its toggle set to remove DC offset from the sidrax orange/red jacks! Then just jumble back to banana and patch to trigger gong/avdog etc.

I mostly use this DC block feature when patching from CL to other formats so I don’t need to tie up cv processor’s just to remove the mido offset. But it works in this case too!

Pic related for clarity, hopefully

Early morning plumbutter and benjolin. The Benjolin audio is going through gongues and the other various outs are “playing” the PB.

Some cool sounds with the PB2 - running Mononoke and Fundamental into the DH

The outcome from my first PB2 session… with a little Deckard’s Dream fed in for processing…

Very nice! I really like that. That sound world would be a great one for an album.

Love it. What flavor of the benjolin is it ?

I love your Benjolin! Is that generally available?

The Benjolin was a group buy/build from Muffwigler some time ago. I was lucky enough to snag this one on reverb a few months ago!

Here’s the relevant thread

I like experimenting with Bounds Modulation tunings, i.e I’ll pick a single barre and tune it to a nice pitch, then tune the associated bounds oscillator pairs for each of its glitch logic states. I made a cheat sheet for each oscillators associated bounds pairs for all the logic states, this makes it easier to experiment with other scenarios.

Also like patching from ground to main pitch knob, let’s me use the main pitch knob as a fine tune.

Hello!
I’m afraid I don’t quite follow you here. But I’m intrigued! Could you explain the process in more details please?

I remember this from the MW thread :+1:
