Just to clarify: The potentiometer labeled resistor ladder is controlling the voltage going into the resistor ladder, and the X resistor is the resistor ladder. Or is that incorrect?

For Tetrax owners, how are the two chaos pots supposed to behave?
On mine neither seems to have any effect below 12 o’clock. One is especially scratchy, so I’m wondering if they both need to be replaced.
finished a quick build before I head off to college! (Oberlin, which I applied to initially bc of PB lol). Simple contents, just a deadbug 6-roll with lever nuts for the hairy caps which are all audio rate. These conklin pen cases are great btw, the 9v battery case was a pressure fit and also perfect amount of room for a quarter inch through the top. Interface inspired by Petr Valek a.k.a. the VAPE’s “meloditon”

A few more novice Coco/audio questions for you:
-
Can I use mono cables into the stereo coco inputs? (I know I could use the piezo input)
-
If yes, will the audio just go into that specific coco?
-
Are mono audio cables the same as eurorack patch cables?
-
Are 3.5 mm cables the same/interchangeable with 1/8”? Growing up, everything small was called 1/8” and now it seems like everything small is called 3.5 mm.
-
Now that Radio Shack is gone, are there any US brick and mortars where I could find a TRS to TS splitter/Y adapter?

If you use a mono cable (TS), the contacts should touch the left and right contacts of the jack and go to the left and right cocos. If I recall correctly, both of the jacks on the front are stereo into both the left and right cocos.
Cables used with eurorack are tip/sleeve (TS) and are mono vs tip-ring-sleeve (TRS). 3.5mm and 1/8" are the same rough measurement.
In the US, you may be able to find the Hosa brand splitters at a pro audio shop like guitar center.

any stereo/home entertainment big box might be carrying too. don’t count out yr Home Depot type places that have an electronics aisle.
honestly good luck I really miss having an RS just a walk away. I’ve bought a grip of minijack TRS->split mono TS cables and three way minijack “headphone mults” for my CL adventures. a mess of just slightly different 3’ minijack cables from through the years.

Good point, maybe Best Buy would be an option too.

Actually with my experience a mono 1/8 cable only sends to the left Coco. One trick that I do is this…
For a mono signal in, wanting to go to both Cocos and not use the the Pee-ay-Zo in (too much gain perhaps) I use a stereo splitter into the Coco, but I connect the mono input into the top end of a stackable euro cable and send each side of the stackable cable to each left and right channel of the stereo splitter. It looks a little clumsy but works well.

i have an absolute mess of minijacks and mono TS cables doing my Plumbutter->Wingie->Plumbutter->euro thing. i’m dying for some kind of creative mixer that offers uh All The Ins And Outs.

Thank you for all the responses - very helpful!
@baleen I’ve been dreaming of a stereo matrix mixer that has the option to split into 2 monos. I’ve been trying to think of all the different routing I would need between my CL, LM, and MQ instruments. I haven’t come up with the number of channels it would need yet.
Does anyone have the ear of @Low-Gain ?
or does this already exist?
@crucFX i could have sworn that when I tried plugging in my stereo cable into the piezo input, I had to pull it halfway out. I’ll check it out again next time I’m in front of my coco.

DIYing this kind of stuff is pretty easy. Just drill out a hammond (or similar) box, throw in the jacks for the functions you want and wire them up. We can help.

there’s a couple cheap passive devices available so yeah, this has got to be DIY-able. I’ve got thoughts about mono-> stereo pan position, switches for assigning to different minijack outputs, etc etc this is a big feature creep zone for me.
I also have a fantasy about a lean mixer that slots right into the minijack in’s at the bottom of PB or Coco.
