There’s one going for $1300 locally and the instant gratification of same day usage is killing me

I would love to get a plumbutter. I was tempted to swap some of my eurorack for one recently too. I probably will eventually.

yeah that’s the thing, I’d like to have both cause I’m just getting comfy with euro
but I know it’ll probably come down to selling my skiff and committing to pb2 eventually

hey i know this may only fuel the fire but i also have for sale a format converter/jumbler i got from perfect circuit that converts banana to euro and it does not draw power it’s 6hp

yeah I’ve got something like that also
plus 20-30 cables

I’m derailing this thread though

Not getting any ciat/shbobo till I save up for arc & some 2017 travel plans

ugh this might couple real nicely with the 0-coast I sold my eurorack to acquire [and have about half the $ leftover after]…

any… idea what you’d want for
this?

Also from threads on mw et al I worry that a passive unit might not prevent the CL/Euro from damaging each other?

yeahhhh that’s the other hard temptation, investing more in the monome ecosystem and travels to SE Asia et al ;_;

Like, the toys/tools that keep me able to cope with being a slave 2 a capitalist system vs saving money for extended periods of disassociating w/ this system. [the answer is probably neither, from a sustainability standpoint].

bcuz life is 4 livin, I guess.

y we gotta make choices, so unfair.

the passive unit has a ground plug patch, i used it hundreds of times with euro modules and a sidrax no issues at all

i would sell it for 70$? 65 maybe i think i paid around 85

it’s 6hp PM me if you are interested, did not want to derail this though

Clearly we need immortality and free energy. Think of the music we’d write…

He typed, while sitting under flourescent lights, in a silicon valley tech office, where he was procrastinating on his long list of capitalism-fueling tasks…

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Seems that perhaps I should look into Sprott or Swoop?

I still wonder if these don’t essentially offer something that Fourses already gives me…
Seems that there is a lot of functional overlap?

No Swoop is like a serge slope generator and a sprott is a quad filter with chaos outs and a fourses is 4 chaotic oscillators is Four Crazy Horses = Fourses or something like that. I modelled it in Max/Msp Jitter if anyone is interested in the visual replica of it and i made a M4L patch from Rodrigos go at it [controlled by a shbobo]

Let me know if anyone wants these patches to fool with. there’s also several max approximations of the fourses
vb.fourses~ and db.bounce~

Small experiment with a noise layer (simply pb2 noise) to create a spatial feeling: Plumdubber

re: all ppl thinking about a pb2. Get it!! I sold most of my 1400HP eurorack as it was gathering dust due to the pb2. Kept 360HP euro with a jumbler for processing the pb. Going to get a cocoquantus as soon as I can find someone to bring it from the US to Europe

I’m less enthusiastic about the IFM stuff having had the Fourses, Sprott and Denum for a year now, with the Sprott being my fav. I think Peter’s magic is in how his standalone systems are “limited” and deep at the same time. With IFM you totally lose this upside with infinite extension and modules which are not so usable standalone. I know thats the purpose of euro, but I’m not sure if Peter’s philosophy gels so well with it.

Im sure your right i’ve honestly never heard anyone say a bad thing about the PB. I agree with most of what you said about IFM stuff however, sprott coupled with just friends and a few oscillators/LPG’s are definitely getting me into Ciat territory from what i’ve heard of those machines. Sprott is making my JF go totally nuts anyone with the pair i suggest trying it out.

This got my attention.

Any examples by any chance?

I will record some this weekend for sure. Still got them permanently patched together been having one of those moments where i tell myself ‘this is why i got into modulars…I could never do this with a DAW’

Ok heres a few clips i just quickly recorded, no edits or anything, what i love about using just friends in this way is the rhythmic variations that it spits out. Quick patch notes;
Sprott Chaos out into JF FM in,
sprott LP/HP into omega phi fm/pm in’s, sprott BP to intone
JF outs to sprott diode in omega fm/pm depth & lxd cv ins.
Omega fm/pm hard pan left & right via lxd

I love these. You’ve got some fantastic sounds in these. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers  Yea i think there is some usable material in there if i were to chop them up and extract the best bits.

That’s exactly what I was thinking.

I heard a whole raft of fantastic samples in there. I’d have a field day with those.

Just enabled downloads on them… Feel free to mash them up :+1:
