Don’t forget that you can always buy more if you find you need them. Don’t worry about getting the “perfect” number on the first go.

alright im gonna pull the trigger on the modular addict ones i think even though i still cant seem to parse if i should get the buchlas instead… ordering 60 some-odd cables i guess i just wanna make the most informed decision upfront.

ive seen some talk about PSU issues that also has me confused, is there specific PSU for coco and pb that people like/have no issues with

thanks again everyone, i feel bad cluttering this thread up

I have been using these for over a year now

Horizontal set up for me works well, just need some, a bit longer, pomonanana
But, in this way, nothing is in the way of keys/controls

I think that, as long as it’s 500ma 12v DC center positive 2.1mm, then you should be okay.

I’m using the BugBrand PSU that was included with the Coco I bought from PatchPoint, and it’s fine.

Or maybe check in directly with Tom Bugs? I can’t actually find them listed on his site but you could ping him a message through the contact form:

thanks for all the info pals, i think im sorted! should have delivery of these fine machines on tuesday.

btw someone on MW said that buchla cables are just branded different color pomonas. not sure if thats true but interesting nonethless (and was the final thing that compelled me to just get MA ones since i have a -potentially unfounded - concern about too snug/stiff fit)

I gotta say, I just love seeing everyone’s instruments. Peter’s woodwork makes each one unique, and I love seeing the variation. It’s just really beautiful to me.

This set up looks lovely Walker!

Is that a pedal board they’re on?

I was considering “ergonomic” solutions for my CL last night as well & pedal board crossed my mind. My only problem is that I have Coco 2, PB2, Sidrax & my Ditto is an X4 so finding a board that’s big enough may be tough :grimacing:

@samule.edmoon Yeah, it’s a PedalTrain Novo 24.

I decided on a pedal board after no inexpensive hardshell case I could find was big enough to house the DeerCocoDeer and also keep everything in place so that I could just open it up and start playing. That’s what I really wanted, for the setup to already be ready to go anytime I want to play, and not to have to get everything laid out and connected once I get to a gig.

This board came with a soft gig bag, which, I’m sure, is not going to protect all the knobs in any way, but as long as I transport it carefully I can finally be done lugging all this stuff around in a backpack. Because the board is angled I can fit all my power bricks and bananas etc. underneath in the bag. It’ll also work nicely for storage when I have periods of not playing it. They also make a dedicated hard case for this board but it costs more than the board itself. I don’t think I gig often enough with these to justify it… yet.

I’m pretty much out of real estate already with this setup so yeah it might not cut it for yours. I spent a good couple hours with measuring tape while browsing my options

All your reasonings are the exact reasons I’m trying to find a solution too! Thanks so much for the input, it’s time to do some research of my own

Maybe just personal preference, but I find the Pomona/Buchla cables to be much higher quality than the Modular Addict ones. The Pomona cables are consistently snug, which I prefer to the MA cables, which are very loose and vary a lot in their looseness. The MA cables also have a longer tip/housing, which makes for a strange fit in banana jacks (even though they’re connected, it feels/looks like they’re partially connected). They’re also quite easy to nudge loose if stacked, and stack much taller than Pomona cables.

from our own @mrsoundboyking, I found this thread immensely helpful when getting started with the pb2. Ditto this one for the coco.

totally in love with coco and pb already. there’s really nothing like these i’ve ever experienced.

regarding bananas if modular addict are considered loose i can’t imagine pomona. all these cables feel snug to me

anyone wanna weigh in on sidrax for me? already thinking it’s in the cards…

What are you doing with cocoquantus so far? Has it been tough to learn? I think about cocoquantus a lot, but usually immediately dismiss it as I’m not sure it fits in with my style. It just seems so strange and interesting though. Post some examples up when you get comfortable!

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my coco. I was using Otis a lot on my Norms prior to Crow. Now that my norns is busy sequencing I’ve decided to get the real deal.

Has anyone found a single (like pedal board style) power supply for multiple Ciat Lonbarde devices? I’m trying to “build” my CL setup and would love to have everything powered from one play but it seems like most pedal powers only offer 2 12V options and I need 3 :grimacing:
