Have you had any issues? I can’t get my deerhorn to work on my PB2. I have to physically touch it to get any response.

@mlogger what’s this tuning screw you speak of?

ha… sorry. i don’t own it. yet.

This happened to me. You are out of range. I guess treat it like an oscillator going out of tune - it just needs recalibrating. On the plumbuter v1 there are 2 trimmers - accessed with a phillips screw - 2 small holes - 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom of the deerhorn section. Put all the knobs at 12 o’clock first before turning the trimmer. I used the bottom trimmer - only turned a 1/2 turn whilst waving my hand until it came back in range. On PB2 i would do the same, use the bottom trimmer, wave you hand and turn the knob above the deerhorn switch (10 oclock to 2 o’clock) until you find the range. If that doesn’t work try the top one.

Ugh - sorry to bug but having another issue on the PB2. Before I contact Peter, I thought I’d try you since you’ve been so helpful.

After some use, I now realize I barely get any volume from a Gongue and an Ultrasound (both towards the top of the instrument; the ones on the bottom end work fine). I am thinking it must be something that’s not making contact. Already went through a ton of contacts and put some more solder, but this issue remains. Any ideas what this could be? It’s affecting two modules so I wonder if it’s power related.

Yeah that’s really well done.

What a great fucking guy!

Are you using batteries? The PB is not really strong enough to run 9v battery. I use a 12v centre + power supply

No - using a 12v power supply. However, I did notice the plug is a bit too big (doesn’t go in all the way). Peter recommends at 2.1mm plug. Perhaps that’s the issue.

Maybe or could be a bad contact on the banana socket. What i did to check was to insert a banana plug in each socket and twist whilst looking at the underside of the pcb to see if there is any movement / disconnect in the solder

Re-soldered everything, but could still be it. I actually think it might be the power supply. Doing a test tomorrow. Thanks so much.

Yes, they get the job done. Compared to Pomonas, cables can get a little “limp” but nothing to worry about. Definitely recommend these if on a budget. (Source: used to own a Kilpatrick Audio Phenol). Cannot speak to the longevity of the cables tho.

Bought new power supply and issue persists. I’ve contacted Peter. Thanks for your help.

Awesome, let us hear it some time!

there’s a bit more back story to that sid. that was my second sid, commissioned direct from meng qi. it originally came in a black plastic box with his older style barres (kinda really light bamboo or something). i have a local woodworker family friend and had him build a custom case and barres that i installed. i just wanted to clarify as to say it is meng qi is mostly right but not quite entirely.
