Hi there!

How are you?

I would like to know if someone has using monome for image works.
Not necessary for “vjing”, but more like art studies.
I work as photographer and I’m looking for merge my curiosity on monome and still image.
Someone into something like that? Or knows an application that I’m can try to use?

So are you thinking about the grid as a way to control parameters of a visualization app?

There are a handful of old apps, but I don’t know how well they are working right now:

What might be more fruitful is to look at the Processing, Max and Pd grid studies tutorials, get familiar with working with the grid, then see how you might apply that knowledge to Processing, or Vizzie/jitter (in Max), or gem (in Pd) in your own unique way.

Hi Jason,

For now I’m just trying to imagine what I could do with the monome on an image.
I was thinking in something like, I have a “final” image that I create previously with my camera for exemple, then I will try to modify it into an app controled by the grid. I don’t know, something like that.

I’m not familiar to coding, but I will try to see something at the Max, I totally forget about it. Thank you!

I don’t have any experience doing this but I was thinking about the idea at work today.
I’d think approach this as I’d approach using audio with a monome. So try to replicate some of the things - slicing, re-arranging, triggering effects etc - that you would do with sound.

Hi Sandy!

Since yesterday I’m looking for some ideas on MAX.
For now I’m trying something with Vizzie, I’m just looking around and testing a few ideas.

I will test on MAX, then, if I can make something, I will look for how to execute the idea using the grid.
I would like to “destroy” my images but with control :slight_smile:

First ideas/steps.
I would like to control the effect, from the bottom to the top on the grid for exemple, or thinking further, to control the effect from the arc for exemple, it will be perfect!! I’me very excited!
