Based on, truly, just few minutes of experience, I can say that Teletype is much more intuitive than one would expect. Meaning, that just making a few first steps, for example following the lines from documentation yields immediate results that are inspiring and exciting!
And I really didn’t even scratch the proverbial surface.
More soon!

@laborcamp is helping with docs.

we ship to retailers tomorrow and friday, so they’ll be moving soon. having much fun creating the preset scenes.

Great news! - record some of those fun sessions, its always super fun to see people playing around experimenting, even if its not an official doc video. :grinning:

Yeah looking forward to seeing some performance patches and how this thing integrates the whole.

Sorry, tehn, you mentioned shipping to retailers, but what about orders put directly through Monome? Are they going to be send at the same time, or are you waiting for extra modules (Walk, Meadowphysics)?

direct orders ship today as well.

ah. we keep making improvements, so we’re pushing back shipping until tomorrow. apologies for our terrible estimation.

No rush, take your time. :+1:

Now that I had a chance to spend a few more hours with teletype I am beginning to really appreciate the simplicity of the language. Somehow what at first seems like a limitation (the 6 commands per script) in reality is part of the enjoyable process of constructing these minimal, interacting structures, where each screen becomes a sort of code haiku.

also, the tracker

We can’t wait to hear your haikus.

@michael_matos I am working my way through it!
My unit came with no scenes or presets of any kind, so a totally blank slate. There is a certain adventure to it though: slowly populating it’s conceptual/programatic space.
I will try to capture something tomorrow.

units shipped to control in brooklyn and control voltage in portland. shipments to analog haven and escape from noise on monday. direct orders shipped. new direct orders ship immediately (monday).

scenes are done. amazing power in this little machine. we’ll be sharing more video once we recover from the weeklong factory haze.

I just got a delivery from Brian. That was really quick! Probably UPS thought it was an Emergency. Very excited. So much to learn…

I have started to install the modules in a case, but not sure how Teletype connects to Meadowphysics. Do I need to remove one of the three ‘jumpers’ (?) from the cable that came with Teletype? It seems the most logical thing to do, but can someone please confirm? Also, Switch came with an American power cord… Can I just use plug straight into it one of the 4ms power bricks? Again, it seems ok, but if someone can please confirm, that would be great.

I have not done it yet, but my undestanding is that you will need to do a bit of soldering to connect the Trilogy modules to Teletype.

Even if it’s a brand new Meadowphysics? It has a three pin at the back, like the one at the back of Teletype. I assume they just need to be connected together with the cable that came with TT. Similar to Pressure Points, but the jumpers here are in the cable, instead of in the module itself. Anyway, I’ll wait for official confirmation before powering up my case.

Yes: as I said, I have not done this yet (waiting for my jumper cables to arrive in the mail).
I am sure @tehn will chime in here soon with details.

Indeed - the brand new Meadowphysics going out (direct orders) have the header already soldered on. We included headers pushed into the ribbon cables so those with older modules wouldn’t have to acquire them separately.

There will be a tutorial page on attaching the headers to the trilogy modules, plus instructions on hooking up the II bus. It is pretty simply a matter of connecting the ribbon, and making sure to match the polarity of the ribbon (red line goes to ground or ‘gnd’ on all modules).

Probably a good idea to remove the headers pushed into the ribbon cable before letting it dangling around inside your case.

Thanks for the confirmation. I just powered ip my case, and TT is so beautiful… I mean, that screen, the colour of the type… Now to get my head around it. Funny, I’ve read the preliminary instructions so many times, but it’s quite a different experience to have it in front of me. Sadly, I’m moving to a new flat tomorrow, so I can’t spend a lot of time with it right now.
