Trying to do shows ~once a month. Waiting to hear back from a friend who’s trying to set up a show in April at the Carrack. I hope that works out because the vibe of their new space near Golden Belt is really great!

I help out with the Raund Haus series every month, there’s one on saturday at the shed if you want to come by. lots of beat/electronic people, both young and old.

EM-u Systems Founder Dave Rossum, Ableton CEO Gerhard Behles, and LZX Founder Lars Larsen will also take part in conversations as part of the Instruments Innovators program.

The fact that they have killer line ups every year is a blessing and a curse… I want to go so badly, but I know by the time I can afford/have time to get over to the US in a couple of years they’ll still be putting on amazing speakers/acts/workshops.

I went to this the year it was in Asheville, and it was lots of fun (Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, and so nice to meet the Make Noise folk). But this year if I was that side of the pond I would have gone to Sync02, or to DonFest (how cool is that going to be!!!)

Nice! I looked through quickly and the things immediately stuck out to me are Elysia Crampton’s & Marisa Anderson’s workshops. The CSound/Nebulae workshop. Some of the spatialization workshops.

I need to actually buy a ticket so that I can schedule attendance before these fill up…

I’ll be there the entire time, as far as I know. Unfortunately I’ll likely be stuck at a booth for most of the time. But I’m definitely going to try my best to make it to some of the performances/talks.

I ended up deciding against it.

Instead I’ve built up a set of nicer soldering tools than what I had and have done a few kits (L2A reamp box & god’s box humpack filter)…working on the Befaco Rampage right now.

I’m signed up for “Feeling Abolition Through Nonlinear Timescales”, “Instrument Design: New ways to Play”, “3D Audio Space Jam”, “Chance and Conceptual Srategies”, “Making Sound and Music with Csound”, “Creative Recording of Solo Guitar”, “Deep Listening”, “Machine Learning and Music”, and “Perspective an Immersive VR Experience”.

Didn’t jump in fast enough to get in on the voltage controlled csound workshop, or the handmade analog computer workshop, but I think I’ll be attending a lot of things I’m excited about!
