Yeah, my advice based on the past couple of years is to not over-plan or over-burden your day time schedule. I’ve found that if you show up 10 mins before most talks, it’s not a problem to get in. YMMV, depending on the person speaking and the size of the room they’re in, however. But I also find I end up just sort of “going with the flow” through the conference depending on how I’m feeling, what talks I’ve heard other people talking about, and where I want to be next.

I guess that goes for the nighttime schedule as well, to be honest. I definitely have a list of highlighted shows, but I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by things that I hadn’t planned on attending ahead of time.

Saturday will definitely be a “go with the flow” night for me. GAS and US Girls are the only two acts that I really care about. There’s tons of workshops during the day on Friday / Saturday I want to go to but I’d also like to explore Durham some. I guess I’ll just let workshop capacity dictate when I go do city exploring.

And the venues are all close enough to each other that is easy to pop in-and-out of most performances.

Does anyone have any deets on which artists will be performing live, not merely DJ-ing? Ala Caterina Barbieri, Colin Benders? Aka: my heroes.

DJ sets can be cool (looking forward to my friend Brooklyn English, for example) but most interested in acts with a performative aspect.

I’m really encouraged that there’s a Merlefest/Moogfest crossover! Both those communities feel a little insular and weird, not an easy boundary to cross!

I’ll be there also, would be great to meet some folks!

We were going to have a MW meetup at Beyu, 8am on Friday morning, but not sure if that’s going to happen now since those forums have gone offline. If anyone’s up for a meetup, they have great coffee and breakfast options (and awesome lobster shrimp and grits later for dinner).

I saw that Facebook post about Muffs being down…but I just checked and it’s working for me. Hmmm.

I’ll swing by Beyu of Friday at 8am.

Hope to see you at my set Thursday, 7:20 at Pinhook if you’re around! Monome-driven festival.

They are usually a few weeks apart which gives me time to make that transition mentally as they are completely different worlds. Both a lot of fun. I was very disappointed at the overlap this year but I imagine I’m in a very tiny niche of folks that had to choose between the two.

For certain! Pinhook is a tiny but awesome venue and close to everything else going on. Looking forward to your set!

Ill be there like every year. Wasn’t able to register for a few of the classes I wanted but hoping the waitlist plays out as well as last year.

Not as many particular acts I want to see this time but that means I’ll be learning about some new stuff - even better!

search for the Moogfest playlist on Spotify. I was pleasantly surprised that many of the acts jelled with my own tastes. I’m really excited for the lineup.

Yup! I definitely did that. Past years I’ve skipped on acts I didn’t know only to find out later they were a great act I was missing. Seeing new surprises is even better than seeing old favorites for the nth time!

Just following up, do you know when you play during the Raund Haus Party on Saturday?

looks like 7:20pm
