Thanks. I’m confused by why the Soundcloud links are expanding. They have for my posts, which is why I’ve removed the http:// at the start in these llllllll.co posts.
We’ll sort it out.

from my humble position (iOS 9.3.2) no soundcloud embed, only link that opens in browser
Great sense of emergency in your track !
for soundcloud embeds:
you must have a blank line before and after your soundcloud link. do not use the “hyperlink” functionality in the edit bar. simply paste in the bare URL from soundcloud ie
https://soundcloud.com/tehn/bright-light-warm-light
and it will auto-embed.

i used scribble.audio to do an 8 bar loop gradually adding more notes over 9 minutes. i duplicated this and blurred it with a 10 second window size in paulstretch, then crossfaded from blurred to non-blurred. then i repeated the process with a 20 second window so it’s even more static at first
G’day, here’s my track:
I’d been jamming in the key of G when the Junto instructions arrived and I couldn’t escape it, although I switched to my ‘Nashville’ tuned guitar to strum G minor – which I thought would play the drone but that ended up being the fretless bass.
The idea to record vocals was impromptu but I had the foresight to use a decent mic rather than the camera. Then I recorded two takes on my four-string guitar.
There are four drum takes layered up and they’re mostly in time. Mostly. The two bass parts were recorded last and in each the strap fell off the bass, so it drops out in places.
Before I started recording today I’d logged into llllllll.co and added a few free VSTs in the thread. I used Rough Rider (Pro though) on the drums and Frohmage on the one part too.
Reverb is Audio Damage’s Eos and Valhalla’s Shimmer. The delay is an Ohmboyz reverse preset on the four-string, same as I used last week. Recorded and mixed quickly, then mastered in Ozone 7.
Hope I am doing the copy&paste the right way

Here goes nothing…
This was my attempt this week - had a lot of fun playing with this! It is 100% modular synth (no drum machine or drum modules - this is old school white noise and filters!)
So - I guess we also need to comment and like here? Which would be great, as all the participants comments will be together
Really enjoyed this, quite dark and foreboding - it felt like the prelude to something, a great way to start an album, or maybe as the sound bed for a pre-credits lead in for a film.
Very cool ‘folky’ vibe to this, feels totally organic and ritualistic.
Cool workflow - using Paulstretch in multiple passes to create the textures. It’s a bit like looking at something through a passing sandstorm, it gradually comes into view.
The track was recorded in one shot to cassette, built from a patch that I’d left in the modular for a while. The rhythmic part is a random Phonogene sample of the drone. Running the sample through echophon gave it a drum like beat that I liked a bunch.
Have a nice CS60 drone recorded at the VSM in Emeryville that I’ve been looking for something to do with. Think it’s fated to be this
Very attractive piece, Ian. Old school but superb !
This is made with my app Droneo – OK, not exactly what the contest calls for - but part of Droneo’s point is that every sound IS a composition. There’s a rhythm going on (other than the obvious beating), but it’s reallllly, reallly slow and it also you could tell it is phasing if you let it run for a half hour or so.

Hello everybody, here’s my track

And here’s my track. Excerpt from my production notes blurb
“The underlying drone you hear was done last week. The original is half an hour of pretty much „nothing“ (as in „keep working, nothing to listen here“).
As much as I enjoy the „autofocus“ mode these drones put me into, they put most listeners to the test. So if I add something to my drone environment, it either is too melodic, too percussive or outright wrong. For this piece, it took me four hours to get some sounds I though would have the right balance.”
Thanks to Marc for getting us on track again.

I had an almost-pristine (for me) helicopter landing in the middle of nowhere. This was the rhythm, various speeds of which were tweaked in Audacity; the drone leading up and tailing off is comprised of several unaltered but layered machine drones from a hydroelectric plant. It never resolves into a song, exactly… This experiment inspired by Steppenwolf, that awesome intro to Magic Carpet Ride.

There are many layers here, with the foundation being a binaural recording of a furnace. It was pitch shifted and sliced to a midi track where further sound design with max occurred, using the “drunk” object which outputs bangs numbers within a specific range. I mapped this range to an envelope follower and added a techno beat. The reason for the techno beat is still unknown to me at this time.
