just to second this as a very cool voice I found “accidentally” as well.

Hi all!

I’ve recently sold my plaits, and the buyer is requesting a refund because the granular clouds and filtered noise modes “do not work like they are supposed to. Granular cloud produces erratic noise patterns unlike anything I can find in demos for that mode.” & “filtered noise which only produces low frequency rumble regardless of the position of the modulation dials”

I want to believe that this buyer is not trying to scam me.

If possible can someone please upload a clean sample of the Granular Clouds mode and the Filtered Noise modes so I can do a comparison?

I wonder if the frequency knob is in one of those low octave fine tuning modes or something? Because to me those descriptions sound exactly like what those modes should do at low frequencies.

oh yeah! that totally makes sense Ill send that back to the buyer. thanks for the tip

Confirmed that this was the issue, thanks for the tip & reminder that that mode even exists!

Ooooh, I totally forgot that it has the low frequency update.

Mine does the same thing. I’ve tried different spots on my rack, new power cable etc and still occurs. Did you ever find a fix?

From the user manual:

Trigger input. Serves four percussive purposes:

[…]

  • Samples and holds the value of the MODEL CV input.

A consequence of this behavior is that when you power the module on, the (still fluctuating and not yet settled) voltage on the MODEL CV input is sampled.

At the next trigger, the correct voltage (0V if nothing is patched in the MODEL CV input) will be recorded.

My new composition for eurorack modular based on the interaction of the sounds of piano and synthesizer. Inspired by classical nocturnes by Frederic Chopin and Claude Debussy. Simple generative patch to learn the melodic possibilities of two Mutable Instruments Plaits and Marbles.

Hope you will like it. :musical_note: :musical_keyboard:

didn’t see this elsewhere in the thread, but I switched my Plaits to this alternative firmware:

it allows you to lock the frequency knob and use it instead to cross fade the aux output between main and aux sounds. super handy!
