Yep, I would agree with those statements. I really like the ergonomics of the a6xxx line of cameras, but I found them a little too small for my hands and in the case of the a6000, there wasn’t a grip I could find that did what I wanted it to. I also agree that it seems that Sony’s focus these days is on their full frame line. I love the Fuji focus on APS-C. I may move to full frame one day, but I don’t feel any need to at the moment.

Sunset on Reykjavik. 4 image composite panorama shot on Canon 6D and an old-school Nikkor-S 24mm f2.8

Semi-related to this I got to play right by a waterfall yesterday. It was so so great.

Lots of chromatic aberration. I like it in this photo. Vintage lens or what?

My partner took it so I am not 100% but I think it was edited in PS express on her phone.

looks a bit like the (really fun) huji cam app?

I’m obsessed with drowning trees - I managed to find this location after triangulating the background landscape from a few other people who had shot this tree in Lake Taupo… but my first visit it was drizzling when I arrived & raining heavily by the time I left… Shot it on XPAN and with my Contax T2, and the Contax (with TriX400) won that day…

Passed back the same location a week later on a perfect still day… XPAN won that time (Tmax100 long exposure with Lee Filters)

The few people who have posted photos of this tree in Lake Taupo refuse to share the location, and in hindsight it is fair enough as another drowned tree in Wanaka, NZ has become a ruined location thanks to instagram… Check the crowd:

Please do strip any GPS etc from your photos before uploading them to social media sites…
Here is why:

Stunning shots, beautiful location. The XPAN must be a dream for landscape shots like these.

Thanks, it is a beautiful camera to shoot with & the 30mm lens is incredible… I am very used to shooting long exposures with my DSLR, but managing film types, reciprocity and the delay in seeing the results is a challenging and (mostly) rewarding experience… Its taken me about 2 years of shooting to feel confident in my film choices etc… I take less (and better) shots on film, but am no luddite - use whatever best suits the situation

Went out to shoot the milky way last Saturday. We went to a rural area far from light pollution. It had been years since I saw the stars so clearly.

It’s funny to think this cloudy, pointillistic patch of light is the set of a few hundred billions stars we call our home, our galaxy. Watching stars completely breaks our sense of scale. It’s humbling and beautiful.

I also shot a one hour long exposure on film (Porta 160, f4, 15mm). I had no way to calculate reciprocity failure, so I made a guess from some parameters I remembered someone using for a similar situation. This was the first of the roll, so I’ll have to be patient until I discover if the shot came out!
