emailed - thanks @tehn - no worries at all!

Hey guys,
Got my arc and grid shipped on sept 20th to Brussels, Belgium. Tracking the package like kids tracking Santa ever since. Stucked in customs clearance status for 3 days now. Is there anybody who received a shippment in Europe recently? How long did it take?
Cheers!

i recall that in the past belgium’s customs has been thorough (and/or slow)

Thanks for the reply. Then patience it is. A virtue hard to display while reading and watching so many things about the 2
Cheers!

I’m in Sweden. The Grid I ordered this spring was super quick. Both shipping and through customs. With the Arc, on the other hand, USPS shipping to Sweden wasn’t bad (about a week), but then it was held in customs for 8-9 days.

But now it’s here - and I’m just waiting to get some time to dig into it!

Thank you, Carl. Can’t wait to see what’s up with both. I see people using them in amazing ways. Btw, out of curiosity…
Just kidding  . Thanks for the CoC tutorials!
Cheers!

PLEASE try the ARC with electric dharma wheels in the workshop. I have to wonder before i conclude that SOMETHING in that patch that Stretta did for the previous ARC with the button is perhaps wonking out the current ARC. Perhaps if you test it in the Monome HQ you can isolate what is going on. Of course maybe I’m superstitious and there is probably something amiss with the chip that you fixed for me of course but perhaps that patch is exacerbating the issue?

Late to the party but FWIW I had some similar freak-outs with edw. Definitely worth taking a look. If there’s anything to this, my gut says it’s not the push button but rather in storms of updates overwhelming the device. (I’ve seen similar behavior with my buggy patches and it almost certainly had to do with sending too many /ring/set events in rapid succession.)

Heeeeerrrrreee’s Johnny!

well that’s insanely unexpected. i’ll investigate.

see that’s what it should it should look like but when mine freaked out the behavior of the first ā€œwheelā€ became all the wheels and then it freaked and now the lights are all 1/2 brightness when i run that patch after the fix. sounds great btw dudalus.

thank you. my post must be 20 characters!

So I went out of town and came back to my Arc Sunday night. Plugged in and started up Returns. Everything works fine. Switched over to EDW and the same problems from before (all lights come on slightly blinking, unresponsive wheels, etc.). I don’t have an Ansible (yet) otherwise I would try it.

I’ll try and take a look at this again and report back. Curious if anyone else has had a chance?

are we talking about the arc LED’s going wild when using EDW?

if so I too had this issue, works fine w/ ansible and returns, seems like an EDW issue. I’ve not had a chance to poke around in the maxpatch for a solution either, mostly because i keep getting lost playing w/ ansible …

For me yes. At the extremes I was able to get the arc to lock up.

I’m actually pretty interested in ferreting out what’s up with the patch. If anyone wants to pitch in, let me know!

Also yes, for me. Although, the other apps became completely unresponsive after this so there is definitely some sort of hardware issue created during the process.

Brian offered to help if I sent the unit back but I’m wondering if its worth it to hang on in case this isn’t hardware related. Not a big deal either way, just want to save him the hassle if its not necessary.

Arc and ansible received - trying to do a quick test with arc on mac - running el capitan 10.11.6 - new 128 and arc not recognised old monomer are recognised - know new monome ok as have used with isms - obviously need to update something on mac - are new FTDI drivers required? does anyone have a link to these if this is the problem?

I lied - none of my monomes are working on mac - must have happened on upgrade to 10.11 - can see I don’t have FTDI driver installed after having checked setup instructions and attempting to remove as instructed. Is the driver no longer required or is reboot post removal supposed to re-install new driver…sorry I’m confused

OK - all monomes working after reinstalled serialosc - but new arc doesn’t light up when plugged in and is not picked up in edw patch - could it be broken?
