Thanks for the good words and ideas! I won’t be closing my own forums any time soon but look forward to being more active in the discussion here.

Will there be more soundplanes in the future?

oh yes.

In addition to the manual and free demo, there are some great videos and a tutorial series. I didn’t find them easily from the madronalabs site (@randy : maybe I just overlooked them?) so here they are for the curious:

and the aalto tutorials:

Great stuff!

Thanks—yes, overhaul the web site has been on my thangstodo list for a while. So I’m doing it incrementally. Starting to get a nice collection of artist profiles together too… if you google for them.

Oh I love Alto so much ! Got the limited version from Computer Magazine, so it’s just a monophonic version, but that’s my favorite softsynth by far. Glad to see you there !

started running parc on my grid 128 sending midi notes to Aalto, ended editing in Aalto only, making weird sounds

enjoyed! thanks for sharing.

Have had good times making patches in Aalto or Kavio and then attempting to rebuild them in Csound (with varying degrees of success!). I’ve learned a lot from these soft synths actually.

Very nice to see what the grid is doing as well here. Also, maybe B/W for the next plugin?

No b/w! i really like the colors of the UI!! It looked nicer for the video tho

I wonder has anyone here run any of the ML synths on a Microsoft Surface Pro? It looks like an ideal environment, if it it works properly…

I haven’t tried here but I’d sure love to hear about it!

I just got aalto a few weeks ago and have done just that! it woks really well actually. especially if you use “absolutemousemode”. the knobs are actually quite responsive. next, i’m hoping to find a cool m4l patch that will allow me to send midi notes to alto from the grid. Anyone have suggestions? how i would love a m4l version of earthsea.

to further emphasize, aalto is absolutely stunning. it sounds amazing and is incredibly fun to use. bought it as soon as i discovered all synth sounds from this came from it.
