This thread seems like as good as any to note the fun that was had this morning with Meadowphysics/Ansible and a Just Friends in Plume mode.

It’s of course very limited, but it’s also pretty amazing what you can do with just these two modules. I’ve said it before: polyphony!

This sure makes me anxious to see what Just Type will unlock. I don’t have a TT yet–waiting–but am crossing my fingers that it will unlock the ability to vary notes on a per-channel basis somehow. Imagine being able to in effect sequence notes per channel by continually changing the “intone” value. I’m having fantasies of using something like S&H in sync with TR inputs, and having up to six voices sequenced at once–all from this one beautiful little module.

EDIT: and since I have two JFs, multiply the whole thing by 2, potentially, for some unreal possibilities.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear: I do this regularly with it. What I’m talking about–and it’s hard to explain briefly–is the ability to be able to change notes on a single channel. Imagine triggering a single channel, listening to the direct channel output, and then turning the Intone knob: you get note changes. The problem is that you can’t do that process on each channel independently but simultaneously. They only change in complete unison.

It’s still brilliant and lovely and great, and I love it to pieces, but if we could get this one step further, this would be like a holy grail moment.

Just to be clear, polyphony is already there. You can easily play chords, but you can’t easily change the intervals within those chords without changing the entire chord itself, in unison.

For fun, last night, I made a 14 tone sound with two JFs and two Mangroves. It was cool. Actually, come to think of it, with patching the square wave out from the Mangroves, you could generate 16.

As soon as the new batch of TTs come available, I’m buying one.
