As I look more closely, it appears to be a linen-covered box that is fitted over the object underneath it, perhaps to obscure the AWESUM LIGER DRAWING ON THE TOP OF TEH FARTBOX or perhaps just as a dustcover, but more likely the other thing.

tehn’s new thing is one of the Kanye albums. single copy, housed in beautiful aluminum enclosure. lcd lines are track durations, knobs on the right are adjustable loop points to replay your favorite lyrics, one button exports the selected quip to a ringtone, other tweets it. volume knob only increases volume, no function for decreasing. one-time-use ‘on’ button.

is anybody else wondering how you interact with it? The default would be that it’s a table top device, but the fact that it’s sitting on books could be a clue - maybe it affords holding it? Also, maybe that empty space on it would mean magnetic knobs that you could attach/configure. Or perhaps this is a prototype that is missing jacks…?
