I’m hitting up the city for a pseudo-honeymoon next week.

Anything going on in NYC that I should know about? Comedy? Art? Music? Other activities?

We’ve got a full list of food, a Flyers/Islanders game, and I may hit up a Mets game while she’s doing pilates with an old college friend.

Thanks!

Not much to add but
Congratulations!

Hope you enjoy the trip…

If you don’t mind leaving the city I’d recommend visiting Dia: Beacon

Hm, just looked it up. In early July, I’ll be passing through NYC to Rhinebeck for a family thing before starting the tour I was posting about a few months ago. Maybe I can swing through there on the way up or @jwm and I can hit on our way back down to the city to play.

Thanks for the suggestion

i love that place. i could spend all day there…and/or at hudson valley brewing too…WINK @sellanraa

it’s on the night of the 7th so maybe outside your timeframe, but http://ambient.church/work/christina-vantzous-n4-clarice-jensen-jonathon-turner/ could be pretty good.

If you’re in the Beacon/Rhinebeck area I also recommend checking out the Storm King Art Center, and if you’re willing to go a little further north, the Omi Arts Center. They’re both amazing sculpture parks.

it’s kinda obvious, but the new Whitney is gorgeous and very worth the trip. walking to/from the museum on the directly adjacent high line makes for a great date.

if you can find these three dummies when you’re there, you won’t regret the search.

Nice. I’ll take a look to see if they’re popping up elsewhere. It looks like their normal appearance is Tuesday, which is when the hockey game is.

My fiancee really wants to see two women who do a podcast called Guys I Fucked or something, but they’re on tour apparently while we’re up there.

One last post to bump this…anyone with suggestions, we are all ears. Thanks.

Dr. Octagon at Brooklyn Bowl Thursday.

I second Commend. I’ve only been once, but my roommate goes every time he is NY and always finds awesome records.

Just checked and they’re showing Vertigo AND 2046 right now! Those are two of the best.

Commend and 2 Bridges are right near where I am now, but both are closed. Guess I have to come back down here tomorrow …and then get some arepas at Caracas

Also drummer Dan Weiss has a residency at the Stone–he’s doing stuff with different groups each night, and he’s an absolute beast.

Went to Commend and saw Robert Lowe of all people. We talked w/ for a minute before I took off. Funny since we’ve met a few times over almost 20 years now, last time when I opened for OM.

Sitting at 2 Bridges now, waiting for the shop attendant to come back. Fun place to try to find for a non-native
