The last two years felt strange, since i didn’t really feel motivated to make any music. The usual way of just buying new gear didn’t spark any new enthusiasm (you would have thought that consumerism doesn’t fix having nothing to write music about…).
But one thing that made me record some music for a brief time, was getting an Octatrack. Funnily enough, the resulting recordings were not really like the ones, most people usually associate with this device.
Instead of going deep into sampling territory, the foundation of all tracks were just recordings of the empty inputs and normalizing the noise I recorded that way. With those noise snippets i went to town with the scenes and the crossfader jumping between different states of effect and play settings. Mostly it’s the bitcrusher/distortion, filter, delay and reverb
Only occasionally i used samples, i recorded earlier.
One big part of the final recordings was applying the Boss Metal Zone emulation from Mercuriall. It’s free and I highly recommend it to everyone looking for the extreme distortion

Thanks a lot. But beware – this is more in the hnw/harsh noise territory – so “slightly” different form my usual output. But i’m not much of a fan of releasing music under different names.
