If you don’t mind me asking what search criteria did you use and did you buy from a shop on there? I’ve searched active and completed/sold listings but haven’t come across anything on ebay.

I tried just now and found two more using the search terms “raspberry pi compute 32”, but they’re expensive.
If you’re willing to wait a month, order here.
I’m sure there’s more options, I only googled twice to find these.

how do I kill rpiboot ? thanks for your help with this? on MacOS 10.13.6

I think ctrl + c should do it?

thank you for your help!!

By kill I generally meant just stopping rpiboot if it was still running. Assuming it was run in the terminal shell you can use the CTRL-C key combo.

Thank you and everyone here for making this a fairly painless operation! I have my Norns up and running

ok my CM3+ arrived today and I’d like to go ahead and ‘upgrade’. Where do I find the latest img to download?

@riggar use this guide: Norns: CM3+ installation

we should make it official

Ok I’m on it

I’ve go to step 4 - Do not plug any cables in yet . Run sudo ./rpiboot (Note: when when you run sudo ./rpiboot you should be in the usbboot directory).

I’ve run sudo ./rpiboot and it’s asking me for a password? Which I wasn’t expecting tried things like the m/c signon password, ‘sleep’ to no avail - what now?

its asking you for an admin password on your system because sudo

ah ok! many thanks! :grinning::grinning::grinning:

Ok got passed the password - must take care as mac air numbers are a little tricky on the keyboard - some time since I’ve used it and forgot.

Now next problem is the sudo .rpiboot results in a command not found msg

i don’t know if it’s a typo here or there, but it’s ./rpiboot not .rpiboot (dot and forward-slash)

again, you should be in the directory containing rpiboot executable that you presumably just built

I’d be happy to write it up in markdown and send it directly for inclusion in wiki on github (I don’t think github allows pull requests on GH wikis), although it will have to wait a bit as I’m in the middle of grading papers (and so therefore procrastinating on lines )

Got it thank you and I missed the ‘make’ command - getting too excited !!

Many thanks to all that’s put this thread togther and those that have helped me through the ‘upgrade’ to CM3+. Great community. Now up and running and delighted. I’m new to both Mac and Raspberry (ok I know it’s obvious :laughing: - but getting there slowly)

A couple of things that might help others that tread this path …

I used a 10mm 1/4 inch drive socket that fitted exactly - so real easy to undo /redo the encoder nuts

Also not being familiar with the run/disk mode switch - 'twas obvious once inside the norns

finally a tip - the encoders are a rubber knob and easily pull off. Note when putting on they need to align up with the shaft. Also the buttons should come off as makes disassembly easier.

Oh my joy! I was just thinking the other night how it was a bummer that there was so little space compared to what I’m used to so I couldn’t just dump in a few gigs of my favorite sounds, problem solved
