Norns menu.lua could ignore listing those files. I’ll try a fix and PR if I have time (or log the issue at least)

I do not know where to post this but sending MIDI clock from Norns drains the battery very fast
i am using an M-audio Uno 1x1 and it works perfectly with a retired iphone running future drummer into shbobo but for the first time my Norns just turned off from LOW BATTERY and then because i had just done the update i was unsure if that was the cause …

Using maiden gives also permission denied

Thanks for this.
running this command i see the biggest files are only 9.7M,6.2, 2.5 and getting smaller, suggests my total is 33M

This is only one directory if im not mistaken?

it is, but it’s the one that had the tendency to bloat to 1gb.

here are some other commands (might need to cd ~ between them):
du -m --max-depth 1 | sort -rn: shows us the size of all your folders
ls -lahS ~/dust/audio: shows us audio files
ls -lahS ~/dust/audio/tape: shows us TAPE files

please email results to help@monome.org ?

edit: closing the public loop, there was a rogue large audio file!

Hello,

My MacBook (running Mojave) will not connect to the Norns fileserver. I keep getting this:Screen Shot 2020-01-06 at 6.41.32 PM

I can use Maiden fine and Cyberduck works. Any pointers on this?

hi jasper! what happens when you try smb://your_norns_ip? eg. smb://192.168.1.100?

Hi Dan,

No luck. Got the same error message. :slightly_frowning_face:

dang. and you’re being prompted for username we and password sleep? there’s a chance Keychain is auto-credentialing.

norns is on newest update from today, I’m assuming?
mac is Mojave 10.14.6 or earlier?

either way, here’s one potential solution. crapshoot!

jasper i know this is a guess but have you rebooted the mac since making any networking changes?
I used to recall mac needed a login/logout or a reboot when changing some network stuff

Boring zeroconf networking question: I have a Mac; what are the reasons that norns.local doesn’t work over local DNS. Is it my router? Is it my Mac being shit at zeroconf? Using the built-in wifi or a nub on a Norns Shield, neither works. Obviously, IP address works fine. Is this to do with avahi?

Does exporting png’s still work? Tried s_export_png("/home/we/test.png") and s_export_png(/home/we/test.png) with no luck.

after the big globals cleanup it’s now

_norns.screen_export_png(...)

That works! Thanks, @tehn

Crash when remove wifi dongle. sounds get distorted and menu unresponsive. It’s been a while I have all sort of crashes… I feel there is something but no idea what. Shall I reinstall the image?

fwiw, full screencap how-to and what-to-do-next documented here: https://monome.org/docs/norns/help/#png

pools looks so so good!!
