The modular PD synth https://www.automatonism.com/the-software works with Norns Mother
killer converter thank you!
i made a patch, assigned the organelle knobs in the patch, saved it in Automatonism and dropped the whole Automatonism folder using Cyberduck into -> /home/we/sidekick/patches
here’s a very basic self generating modular test patch with knob 2 assigned to pitch.
Unzip first. You can also view it in PD on a computer also to see how it was made.

here’s the patch in the video above mlogger3.zip (2.8 MB)

unzip and drop the whole folder using Cyberduck into -> /home/we/sidekick/patches
press and hold 3 buttons on Norns for 3 seconds to get to the sidekick menu.
scroll down with the first knob - “refresh menu”
scroll up, select “mlogger3” press the first button

if you get sick of the drums, try this one mlogger2.zip (6.7 MB) its like changing stations on a drone AM radio

Very nice work! Have to say it’s a bit weird navigating through patches in the place where I expect ecosystems (norns/orac/etc) but that’s a small price to pay.

Quick question; where you get them knobs from!! Those are v-nice

multifx_n.zip (1.4 MB)
here is a 21 effect multi-effect unit based on marty brinkmann’s stuff
feed it an input
you’ll figure out the buttons

**patches tested on norns/sidekick will get the _n !

cheers~

I rate those knobs, they feel great. You can get them from here - buy in groups of 10 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32781327404.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dQ4Aov1

Wow i missed this! Thats great news!
I still gave my patches from the organelle and automatonism

ok i’ve never used cyberduck before. if anyone has a second would they quickly walk me through this?
ok i figured it out… cyberduck is the most efficient way of doing this.

If you’re on a Mac or Linux system you can use SFTP, which is quite easy. Download a patch from patchstorage.com to ~/downloads and unzip it.

$ cd ~/downloads
$ sftp we@norns.local # or IP address
sftp $ put -r "foo" "/home/we/sidekick/patches/foo" # "foo" is the name of the folder created from the unzipped file downloaded from patch storage

On your Norns make sure you’re in Sidekick (hold buttons 1+2+3) then select "Refresh Menu”, the new patch should appear in the list.

has anyone successfully connected midi into this with a launchpad pro? I was hoping this would solve the issue i was having with orac but still not working. I am getting note in feedback in some synth patches (top left light toggles on and off with pad presses) but the only actually midi response i’m getting is from the nanokontrol2. aconnect says the channel is 28 then its split into 3 more sections like this:

so i tried changing each of the “1”'s in sidekick>mother>midi to “28” one at a time to see if that worked, but I don’t think I understand it well enough.

everything else seems to be working ok. I get audio in for some of the effects patches. Just need to get some midi in working so i can play these organelle synths

heres a nice little synth with presets:-Aquarius 4.zip (45.3 KB)
just unzip and put in sidekick/patches. :grinning:

I’m not getting MIDI from my Launchpad Mini (MK3) either.

Such a cool idea, thankyou.

i have not had any success loading patches with externals in them though, is there a place that they should be in? or do i need to create a declare -lib for each external?

I recall the technobear saying there was a vpn now on/in sidekick so you could see what was not loading [a way to see the pd post window remotely?

New Update v0.2.5

  • Fix MIDI encoder bug
  • Fix Volume Level Bar (Now shows the correct level meter)
  • More Responsive Vumeters
  • New graphics ( road to OS 3.1 support)
  • More clean code

Update via “Update Mother” on Sidekick menu.

Nice Patch! Sounds incredible.

We, could make a Automatism external to make visible the values on the screen like organelle patches.

i think that could be cool.
with a button cycling you through each automationism abstraction in the patch that would publish the UI to the 3knobs & buttons

martin!
thanks for the heavy lifting on the knobs/buttons man
very nice
I have been having some weird behavior with realvnc not delivering all the files when i push them to norns – it doesn’t want to push the .pd_linux externals as first so i have to hand drop them it but that seems like the only issue

here is a FFT resonator based on FFTease “residency”

Press Main Norns button to aquire the data then tweak !
Needs a live signal
