I’ll try to get my block out and test this later.

what i am hoping is that the loading of separate tracks can be menu-ized on Mother
how do you patch midi in Mother? Things will collapse fast if i cant patch it similar to qtjactctl

so how do i make axiome work?

theres no main.pd so it’s not showing up in the mother menu?

axiome.pd need to be renamed
i am just starting this going to do the first transfer after confirming it worked on linux
sorry that was not clear

Hey Apparently the update to mother dusted the patches folder? I must have missed this

OMG you win this thread for that alone :crying_laughing:

ha!
Axiome works perfectly on linux64. I could not get the organelle to power the Block and i assume the same would happen with the Norns.
I did not see the “bug” in the repo that apparently deletes the ~/sidekick/patches
folder and replaces it with a completely different structure that now has
/sidekick/demos/patches/pd instead so i am tapping out on Norns mom, it was a fun distraction for a while but i think sidekick is geared for orac going forward.

i don’t want to mislead anyone into thinking i am developing it for NornsMom/Organelle.

It was mentioned up the thread. Sorry to hear you lost your patches.

I don’t think anybody thought so, at least not I.

Axiome is an ancient monome-ish patch that i really had hopes of trying on Norns/or Organelle but i think underlying the issue is that its just not getting enough juice through the USB to even get to the fixing it on Norns Mom.

Axiome is like Mlr with seven programmable loops and it works perfectly in linux so i had hopes of converting it for use without a Block for pd. My additions included midi controlled EQ/Reverb with the midi breakout add-on and some tidying of stuff Heikki did.

This is awesome! Thank you very much for your work, I’m gonna test it on my fates tonight. I already own an organelle and I often wondered on how would it be to jam with two of them together. I’m going to test few - not already tested - patches to give my contribution

Hey everybody, I tested some of the patches I have on my organelle,
some of them work flawlessly, others don’t at all, few of them make clicks/pops/noises
while fiddling with knobs. hope it helps in some way.

Euclidean rythms - not working
Xylophone - working
Tapey - working
Tape synth - not working
ACME beat machine - not working
ACME sequencer - doesn’t work properly in every function
Additive 1.0 - synth engine works, sequencer doesn’t. sound glitches here and there
Additive synth 6 poly - working (noises while turning encoders)
Arp II - not working
Arp III - not working
Cassette linndrum LM-2 - working
Granulator - not working
Continental breakfast - working
Euclidean traveller - not working
Flute - working
Koto - working
LoFi piano - working
LoFi polykess - working
M1 piano - working
MFB synth like - doesn’t work properly/glitchy
minimoog - working
morphagene4 - doesn’t work properly
pianelle
Pink mode - some strage behavior here and there but mostly working
Polybeats DRG32V - working
Polyloops - not working
Polystep - not working
Pow pow’s Polybeats - working
Rhodey - working
roganelle - working
RT Juno 104 - working
SB-minimoog - working
Simple strings - working but clicks and pops while fiddling with knobs, aux button doesn’t work
Strings - working (some click and pop while fiddling with knobs)
Supersynthengine - working

I generally found out that patches in which sequencer/looper screen is activated via aux button
don’t work as they should. the key command in combo with aux button pressed is not recognized,
so it’s not possible to trigger those secondary functions. other patches that usually display the organelle keyboard as visual feedback on notes or step triggered don’t show the same layout, I guess obviously

some patch added - thanks @shreeswifty
BrokenBeats - working (super fun patch! can’t figure out if it’s possible to change the default loop with other preloaded ones or swap it with a sliced one of your own)
Bubbler plus - working
Multifx_n - working
Residency - working

We should have a wiki (or a wiki post here on lines?) for listing all the patches that work (with version number/date of Norns Mother attached). @Oxbown, what if the first post was editable and everybody could add to this information? (I think that in the lines flavor of Discourse, the admins need to do this, unless you see a wrench icon at the bottom of your post?)

if someone can find something that resembles an emulation of some kind of granular engine like morphagene, phonogene, arbhar, something like Bastl Thyme that works in Norns Mother; that would be the coolest thing ever and i would use it every day

You can patch something up in automatonism - it has granular delays, sample players, loopers, pitchshifters, preset morphing, patch randomize and audio freeze for example. I’ve been trying out a lots of automatonism units and posted on my Instagram. I would encourage everyone to dig in and try making patches in automatonism - it is a goldmine for sound design. You can pretty much make anything you like. It’s the equivalent to a poor mans Nord modular G2. They sound pretty much the same to my ears.

This is with a contact mic triggering a patch

When you say compatible you mean midi note input right? No grid afaik.
Any idea if its easy to add custom samples (and add instruments) to some of the sample players like mellowtron? How would that be done, simply adding folders via ssh?
I do have a few and just found out timber keys wont do that. Timber player does with grid.

And…is there anything for norns that reimagines oldschool sample from record, chop up, play out from from midi or grid functionality? With detailed params for the chops, like pitch etc?

I deleted the organelle folder and now, can’t install mother.
I get this:

Note, selecting ‘nornsmother’ instead of ‘./NornsMother.deb’
nornsmother is already the newest version (0.3.1).
