no the tempo settings are cool. i mean the tempo display number only in settings. it usually matches whatever link is. it doesn’t update now, meaning i do have to do some checks.

Molly the poly works great with 64s. I’d say it’s a powerful creative tool even.

Arcologies works with 64s, however LED feedback is made for variable brightness grids so it looks weird on mono bright 64s. You need a good grasp on how the script works in order to start having fun with it. But you can still make the bloops.

Howdy yall, picked up a Grayscale 64 tonight and ready to get my hands dirty (and learn lua with some training wheels)
Norns updates have been more extensive lately and I’m sure broke a few of the 64 scripts. Any pointers for getting started on a fix?

As far as adapting other scripts for 64 monobright, Is the main hurdle the interface design? Not assuming it is that simple but I would like to do some “gentle” tweaks as @Oootini has described them before.

Here is the maiden Otis_64 error: load fail

Thanks everyone, MLR_64 is working great. If there is a better spot for this post I can move it on over :v:

hi @alley_cam !

excited to hear someone else shares interest in script support for monobright 64s. as someone else who is in the monobright 64 club, i would love to help in any way i could. ive considered learning lua so that i could begin crafting up monobright 64 compatible script edits. perhaps this is something we might team up on?

really excited to hear about your interest!

Otis64 is just the main file from Otis copied and patched, not a full fork, and thus requires the same dependencies and libraries to be installed. You’ll actually need to install the regular Otis to get the 64 version to run.

I’ve been running it from the same folder as Otis proper (just copied in), as I believe this is the standard Norns convention for patched scripts. Not sure if this is strictly required, but FWIW it’s the setup I use for running / developing it!

Just want to add that @dan_derks Cheat Codes 2 works with a 64 «out of the box».

I’ve been so busy using and having fun with cheat codes 2 I forgot it wasn’t listed here yet.

arcologies has consistently been one of my favorite scripts as of late. even though i only have a 64 grid, theres still so much im able to do with it! the type of script that will eventually make me give in to the allure of the 128! thanks so much for natively having support for 64 grids (even monobright!) and for all your hard work on arcologies

Just added gridstep. I don’t have a 64 grid, so please let me know if you have issues.

So I’m sure the answer is some where in this thread but was wondering which scripts don’t work with the 64?

I’m about to purchase one but I’m not a coder so I won’t be able to customize anything. Cheat codes is one I’m dying to try with a grid.

Cheat codes works well with 64s.

There are hundreds of apps between norns and the computer. Many do not work with 64s. It is easier to list which apps DO work with 64. Which is what this thread be doin.

i’m pretty sure that this thread is the place :grinning: the top post lists several scripts

in this thread you’ll also find notes on how to customize scripts for 64. I haven’t done it before (am not a coder at all myself) but it seems doable without coding skills, also there’s lots of nice people here to help if you get stuck  I would also recommend arcologies as another one that works great with 64 non-varibright grids — in my limited experience I’ve found the varibright/non-varibright divide more frustrating than the size, but having never used a varibright 128 grid it seems likely I would be confused regardless since that’s my default state :stuck_out_tongue:

^ Added my 64 patch for Glut.

@cfd90 stoked to try this tonight!

Edit: Worked like a charm  I would really like to see this app expanded for live input and arc support. Get all them grainfields features I’ve got to love. I’ve arcified a script, but what this needs goes beyond that.

Hi,
i have two 40h grids from years ago, i am about to buy a Norns and wonder if it is possible to use those two grids at the same time connected to norns to be able to use most of the apps as intended.

thanks!
