Very pleased with the Denki Oto shop’s Caribbean Blue acrylic case. Thanks @okyeron!

Installed with extra stand-offs “battery mod”, and resting on an Ikea Bergenes bamboo holder.

Norns screen is showing a new interface for Pitfalls I hope to have ready for release soon.

I haven’t got round to having an acrylic top panel cut yet, so I 3D printed an interim cover to go with my @JHC case:

I gave it a bit of chamfering so that it’s easier to see the screen off axis, and added some supports so the sides of the case don’t flex in when I pick it up. I think it’s the kind of temporary solution that might end up being permanent!

I’ve also printed some support blocks for the screen so that it’s a) horizontal and b) doesn’t flop around. I’ve put all my files on GitHub.

Finished my case! Solid walnut, brushed aluminum top, and clear acrylic window.

I’d love to hear more about the creation of this with the solid block of walnut if you feel like sharing! I love the look of one piece enclosures like this…did you use a CNC machine to mill it?

@jlmitch5 Thanks for the interest! It’s not a single block of wood, you can see on the side it’s 4 panels glued together using butt joints, no CNC

Ah got it! I read solid and thought solid block and didn’t look super close. Those joints look super nice too!

@jlmitch5 Haha glad I tricked you. I meant solid wood compared to plywood.

been loving my norns shield and the case from @JHC. last night i modeled and printed a lid to fit over the face.

I feel like my case needs a little more context :upside_down_face:. I am attempting to use Norns with a modified Crow as a somewhat massive i2c (maybe?) to CV in/out and module logic interface to go with my Buchla 200 system. This is nowhere near completion, but it is inspired by the Buchla 300 computer interface.

Here’s the rear (HDMI and ethernet ports are placeholders):
