I’d love to hear more about the creation of this with the solid block of walnut if you feel like sharing! I love the look of one piece enclosures like this…did you use a CNC machine to mill it?

@jlmitch5 Thanks for the interest! It’s not a single block of wood, you can see on the side it’s 4 panels glued together using butt joints, no CNC

Ah got it! I read solid and thought solid block and didn’t look super close. Those joints look super nice too!

@jlmitch5 Haha glad I tricked you. I meant solid wood compared to plywood.

been loving my norns shield and the case from @JHC. last night i modeled and printed a lid to fit over the face.

I feel like my case needs a little more context :upside_down_face:. I am attempting to use Norns with a modified Crow as a somewhat massive i2c (maybe?) to CV in/out and module logic interface to go with my Buchla 200 system. This is nowhere near completion, but it is inspired by the Buchla 300 computer interface.

Here’s the rear (HDMI and ethernet ports are placeholders):

I’m scheming a dual machine cyberdeck with a NUC and a Shield based on the MSG cyberdeck design, but I can’t seem to find the actual dimensions of the shield anywhere. Can somebody help me out?

3 3/8” x 3 1/8” x 1 15/16” (dims of biggest board and height from top of knob to base of spacer — not including plastic cover or any case)

I am trying to get the .dxf file from the monome norns shield github, but am not understanding what I am seeing. It looks like some type of text file. https://github.com/monome/norns-shield/tree/master/dxf

How do I get this converted to a .dxf file that I can open in my cad software?
