Ah my bad. Should have looked for the repo first. Thanks!

ok i’ll be there!

will work on a “new” idea for something fun we can make in 90 minutes— if people are interested in scripting

@mimetaur i could bring a projector if that’s helpful

Wish I was able to make it. I’m working till 6pm that day now :worried:

I’ve got a (just okay) 720p short throw projector set up in the space so we’re probably all good in that regard.

Other equipment I’ve got set up:

  • an old Mackie with some spare stereo inputs (for anyone who wants to demo sound from their Norns)
  • a little webcam on a gooseneck mount (if anyone wants to project their Norns or grid)
  • a fair assortment of cables (but if you want something special you may want to bring your own

Something fun we can make in 90 minutes sounds good to me! As does an MLR demo.

I have a few ideas I’ve been playing with…

  • I can show some generative audiovisual studies I’ve been working on that use the Norns, Crow/modular, and Processing together.
  • I’d love thoughts on a python script I’ve been using to administer my Norns scripts.

I think recording and publishing any presentations we do during the meetup would be pretty fantastic! Happy to help set that up and coordinate.

Could be fun to do some lightning talks around different topics as well! I wouldn’t really want to do a full on presentation but would love to talk for ~5 minutes on code structure for scripts or something similar.

Maybe one big live coding presentation, a bunch of small presentations, and then just hanging out/jamming/coding?

Sounds exciting! I hope to join! I’m a very very fresh Norns owner.

I don’t think we’ve locked down a time yet beyond mid-day?

I’ll be around so I’ll probably open it up to people for most of the day (noon to 6?) even if there’s a fair bit of unstructured time.

What do y’all think about doors/free time at 12, scripting presentation by @tehn at 2, show n’ tell at 4? I would love to meet and hang with everyone, but I also have some stuff to do on Sat that requires a bit of scheduling… Does that work for people? Sorry if I’m being too invasive/type-A about it!

That sounds like a solid schedule.

I’m going to be there if for no other reason than to lurk and learn by osmosis.

FWIW… that evening Basinski is playing an 8 hour retrospective at Issue Project Room and I happen to have an extra ticket. Takers?

8 hours? How LaMonte :slight_smile:
sounds fun though, last time i saw any music in NYC Bang On A Can played InC and Music for Airports at the WTC. Bob Ashley was standing next to me
We lied down to listen and the guards freaked out --simpler times

would love to join but seeing an artist play for more than 40 minutes makes me wanna die lol ;_;

(not an issue when listening at home but public events are hard I guess)

This is still on right? Still aiming for noonish start time?
