The current orca builds address only from 64 and up.
You’ll have to modify cc.js(line 27)

Sorry, there isn’t a better way at the moment.

Also, the midi cc operator, as of today, will be changed to ! instead of ^ since azerty keyboards are having a hard time inputing the caret character.

No worries! I’ve been getting around this pretty easily with some midi mapping in Ableton, but I thought maybe I was missing something simple!

I keep on having this problem where K won’t output one or more of the variables, in this case G. Also happens on V when I’m trying to get it to output down. Thanks!

@zaneschaffer In that snipped you just shared, I can see the output, being f, right underneath g in the thing you pasted. It seems to be working properly.

I’m thinking that maybe you’re confusing K and V, in your example, you should be using V, as you want the output to happen under the operator, here’s how you would use K.

ohshit my bad that wasn’t the thing I meant to paste in relation to that question. This is the situation I find myself in :

.3Kh.f...............
...2D............3R8.
................fV7..
....J..4Khsf.........
.........1a7.........
....J....JJJ.........
.....Y.:01a73........

One of the K (f) is outputting the right number but the other isnt, and neither is the h

Ah! Okay, so this is a common issue most people, have with variables.

The order at which they are declared is important, have a look at this snippet:

.....Va
.......
aV5..Va
.....5.
.......
aV6..Va
.....6.

You’ll notice that the first Va outputs nothing, since at this stage of the parsing process, there had been no assignment to the a variable yet. Orca runs from the top left, to the bottom right.

OH! it has to work from top to bottom I see! Very much appreciate the quick response time as well. Love this program a lot and excited to dive into it more

Github readme needs an update for this.

I’ve corrected the docs! Sorry.

Today’s List of Awesome Changes

  • U is now a euclid pattern operator that will join D as another bang operator.
  • Z is now an operator that animates its output to a value, similar to I, but you just feed a rate, and a target, and it will animate to that value over the next frames. This allows for MidiCC’s knob continuous mode, or to animate anything, really.

Enjoy

Here’s a demo of the new U operator.

How do you do that ?

This is amazing, though I see no reference to a norns version in the Library. Where is this available @its_your_bedtime?

it’s here: https://github.com/itsyourbedtime/orca

It’s so neat! @its_your_bedtime just posted on instagram minimap and tooltip functionality that answers a question i had about screen size limits. And now with Euclidean ops Orca (Urkel) keeps getting more exciting.

“I can’t help it, Laura. I’m drawn to you. Like a moth to a flame. A bee to a blossom. A mouse to cheese.”

There is updated version on github, all ops in place, minimap, etc.

for folks wondering how to access the minimap, it’s toggled on/off with caps lock

Thanks for the update @its_your_bedtime, this is great.

Orca port on Norns works just with USB keyboard connected?

ayup, it is quite good.

yes, your keyboard appears as a HID device in Norns settings. It can also output midi or use the internal Timber and Softcut engines from Orca
