I got 2GB one as 4GB were out of stock at the time. I am using only fraction of memory looking at task manager.

i’m not getting any midi out? running hallo.orca on High Sierra, having built from source… it flashes up that it’s using IAC Bus 1, at the start then it seems to turn into a row of dots, is this correct? when it is then playing, nothing seems to be coming into ableton on that midi bus, any channel…

When you bang the midi operator, does one of the dots turn into a line?

no. it just stays as a dot. i did see that in your video and wondered.

So the problem is not midi, but your orca patch, try this:

D....
.:03C

It should send midi to whichever device you have selected in MIDI >

i swear that was the first thing i tried! it works now… thx

Bummed!! I’ll be getting there on the 2nd of November, would have loved to join in on the fun

Ah that’s alright, what brings you to Montreal?

Hello! Im new here. Absolutely LOVE Orca!
Did the implementation of the VOL (or other master commands (EQ and Compressor)) in Pilot ever get implemented? I cant seem to be able to make it happen.

I’ll be visiting one of my dearest friends on the way back to Vancouver

@Stuff No I haven’t gotten around to it, I’ve been scratching my head at this. Pilot needs a bit of a rewrite, I’ll have a bit of time this winter to work on this

@kali_yuga I’m in Montreal for a while, if you’re bored one afternoon and want to grab a good coffee, let me know, I can meet you downtown.

fantástico
thank you

Check this out, Orca driving my friend’s modded NES.
The cart has an extra sound chip(YM2612), giving me 10 channels to play with.

With the YM2612 you could (and did!) do a tone of damage. That’s such a cool use of Orca.

Started on an iOS port this weekend so I can use this on my iPad? Anyone else interested in this port?

Current progress:

  • Enabled basic MIDI support
  • Able to use some of the menu items

It’s already pretty satisfying to pair this with an app like AUM.

20 characters of yes!!!

was only thinking the other day how cool this would be…

using orca on MacOS and loving it, just thinking of sending OSC to the Instruo Aither (via parat+) - just wondering if there’s a way of making it smoother? that is sending values over osc that have more resolution than 0-z? it’s great for note sequences and can be quantized anyways, but for cv values it’d be nice to use all that osc resolution…

what’s it sending? Like Midi/osc/udp?
