In main.js, in the browserWindow block, add transparent: true, frame: false, like this.

Heyo,

I don’t know if anyone here is also on Twitter or Mastodon, where I have been way more active then here,
but I built a Suitcase with 5 Korg Volcas controlled via MIDI with a raspi running ORCA-C. This is a video I made today

watch here(can’t upload files since I’m new lol):

Hi llllllllllllllllllliners!
As I do every year, I made a little Xmas video, a revisited “Jingle Bells”, created with ORCA, puredata and a 6x6 matrix mixer, routing and shaping the sound through an Ibanez delay and a BigMuffPi overdrive.
Then a second video followed, where I explain how everything works, and I also made a tiny library you can use to get started with ORCA+puredata right away!

It’s been a serious blast, let me know what do you think!

Hey, I’d love to check out your example patch, but I’ve got some externals missing and I do not see them documented on your github. Specifically, the ntof and linn objects are not working. What do I need to install?

Is there a way to modify the envelope settings for the membrane channels (C, D, E, F) in Pilot? The env command doesn’t work; my first thought was that perhaps the command is something different, but my programming knowledge isn’t quite good enough to figure it out from the source. It’d be nice to be able to change decay times etc on the drum sounds  either way it’s a nice sounding synth!

Hey hi!
Yeah, [linn] is a linearizer and data-to-signal converter from my library “Pure-bAo”, and [ntof] is an alternative of [mtof] from this library.
So for [ntof] you can just use [mtof], without parameters, and you can swap [linn] with [sig~], but losing the linearization.

BUT, I’ll go now and make it all dependency-free, thanks for the heads-up!

Ok, just updated the saltWater repo, now it should work completely dependency-free!

Let me know if everything works fine for you too now!

No, sorry. The membrane instruments don’t have envelopes.

Hi I’m new to ORCA.
Now I’m trying to send command to ORCA via UDP from Max/msp.
And I made a patch like this.

But this doesn’t work.
Could you please tell me how to fix this patch?

Thanks.

to be honest, I’m not a MaxMSP expert, but in general it would make much more sense to RECEIVE OSC/udp data from ORCA.

Hi @ryu,

Open Inspector:

Make sure that UDP is working:

Send hello world and you should see it in the console.

Good luck  Let me know if this works for you! If you need help in japanese, you can also ask @moxus.

Hi neauoire-san!
Thank you for hopeful advise!

I could confirm receiving of UDP message in ORCA.
And succeed to change frame. But “stop” and “play” are recognized as unknown messages.
bpm:130 setting didn’t work…

What I’m trying is Sync some ORCA through UDP network.

Hey @ryu,

Try sending "play" instead of "play,".

Thanks neauoire-san.
I’ll try to remove , from UDP message.

Hi @ryu

I have used UDP communication between max/MSP and ORCA using the “mxj net.udp.recv” object. maybe it would work for you?

In this case, Ryu is trying to send maxMSP->Orca, your example shows Orca->maxMSP.

Hi L4COUR-san and neauoire-san
I could send command from max/msp to ORCA by using node.js object.
This works perfectly!

Thank you for great advises!

No problem  I just thought I was missing some “secret” parameters or something!

maybe figured out how to record the output of orca in the browser, and yoshimi in the browser
