Use the AUM destination. Midi filter each channel to only receive the one you want. Default is ALL.

Yes it is  ADSR are usually defined this way:

The lenght of the note is not defined in the enveloppe definition but in the note bang

;32Aff : the last f is the length, when the note ends the enveloppe enters the release phase of the ADSR

Just went down a 9front rabbit hole. I hadn’t heard anything about it. Now I want to give it a try on a virtual machine.

What can you possibly bang with a W?

What can you possibly bang with a W?

I’m not sure I totally understand the question, but W should be able to bang anything you want, not unlike how the other cardinals work. Have you found a bug? Do you have an issue?

0....W

all the things i like banging have the bangable portion on the left hand side like midi notes - nearly all operators have a value on the right, banging it doesn’t do much…

Then you should use any other cardinal direction if you can, using W sounds very much counter-pattern. But if you really must use W, well, let me think about this for a moment…

I hope this helps you with your issue

Here’s a link to The Future Of Coding podcast on which I had the chance to talk about various Orca related ideas, where it comes from, and so on. I’m certain some of you will enjoy this.

can’t do the drive by with N, however? is this a bug?

I don’t think it’s a bug, I think it’s because of the run order, but I’m not 100% certain. I’ve just been kind of working around this limitation.

Hey!
I have two questions:
. how do yo use the P operator?
. graphic command does still exist? There’s a way to load images?

How does P works?

The best way to think of P is to see it like the writing version of T. It’s a bit like X, but you don’t need to manage the locking of cells, like how T is like O but locking a series of cells.

So, instead of:

C.3U.......
4.X........
.#*..*..*.#

The more flexible way to record a series of bangs is to do:

C.3U.......
18P........
..*..*..*..

With this second way, you don’t need to manually extend the positions of the comments when changing the length of the segment.

I’ve been enjoying hearing you talk about the origins and development of Orca. :raised_hands:

Super cool podcast. I especially like how you talk about ORCA’s development as a misunderstanding of Ticalcycles. Interesting how misunderstandings can cause such great things to happen

Portable Orca setup running on a phone, sending notes via webMidi.

Also, Orca was spotted in the wild.
