going to try this experiment today. Click track from 4 track tape going in to attenuate to amplify signal on 0coast. 0coast amplified click track going in to cv sync on keystep. keystep sending sync to laptop Orca. Orca sending midi notes to keystep. keystep midi out (or gate and cv) to 0coast.

Hoping to build up remaining 3 tracks with 0coast controlled this way all synced to the click track. I’ve been doing other stuff successfully with this loop setup minus Orca. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Orca doesn’t appear to be receiving clock from the keystep. I tried [space] and [ctrl]+[space].

edit: now not sure this is possible with any software…

Impromptu collab on mastodon.

Orca doesn’t appear to be receiving clock from the keystep.

I’m not totally sure Orca’s midi clock in works properly. I don’t have anything to test it, and I’m not a 100% clear on the midi clock implementation.

make sure you start orca with ctrl-space for ‘clock play’. might be better to use orca as master.

on a mac that isn’t cmd-space either even if it says so! ctrl-space

I’ve tried to connect it do Ableton but I did not succeed. Midi clock out instead works fine

Using the ctrl-space command I was finally able to get Orca sending midi clock out to Bitwig on Lubuntu (was not able to get clock into Orca, i.e. it didn’t “just work” as described way above), however the clock time coming in is shaky: if I have it set to 110bpm in Orca, Bitwig’s clock fluctuates up and down to 110.4, 110.3, 110.2, 110.3 etc.

Any ideas?

The Orca clock implementation is very sketchy, if you know your way around javascript, I’d love a hand, I never managed to get it work right.

Thanks, wish I could help. Looks like I’ll just have to keep creative doing everything from Orca!

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I couldn’t find a Pilot only thread. But I’m trying to pipe Orca to Pilot! Most basic! Do I need to have a midi device plugged in? I can command line sound notes just fine in Pilot but not sure how I get the two together.

Send UDP on 49161. There should be a UDP operator you can use much like the midi operator.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I’m using desktop Orca & Pilot and was wondering how I get colours to show in Pilot?

@magfoto What happens when you drag&drop a theme on pilot?

Themes seem to work fine changing the background colour accordingly. I’m referring to the colours I see in your demos of Pilot that sometimes show effects highlighted with a fill colour around them, this doesn’t happen for me. Whether running the standalone or via electron. Like in your video for instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqUeooJJaKw.

What mine looks like:

Ah yeah, it was draining my battery too much so I removed it to save some CPU. I can try and make it more apparent tho, let me see what I can do
