@a773 did you try shift-ctrl-v for paste?

For some reason this is banging on every frame. When I move the bang one step to the right on the second TRACK it works as intended but it will be offset by one frame. I think it’s a bug? I should be able to use this like a gate sequencer but it is not working correctly. @neauoire

The bang is directly above your “:” operator. If you move it down and left one cell each, then the output of “T” will bang the top of “:”

Yes I just tried it it was xterm that was somehow blocking it works fine (quick test) in xfce4-terminal…

Thanks alot for pointing this out, very handy until we get inject in orca_c

I have Orca-c running in multiple qterminals under 20.04 lubuntu using lxqt. I haven’t seen any copy/paste problems so far. I know from past experience with xterm and rvxt they can be a pain …

A little experiment I’ve been playing with lately using soundfonts. It uses fluidsynth, qjackctl, qsynth and 4 instances of Orca-c in individual qterminals. In a nutshell, each orca-c routes it’s output to an individual instance of Midi Through (in) with it’s corresponding Midi Through (out) to a fluidsynth instance. Qsynth is a front end to fluidsynth and allows creation of individual “qsynths” (sort of like a host), one for each fluidsynth interface. Ie; 4 qsynths, 4 fluidsynths (see the picture) I then setup each qsynth to use what ever soundfont I need. Each qsynth routes it’s output to the L/R input channels for playback.

So far, it works very well. I’m working on a way to sync the 4 orca-c instances. Right now I time and start each manually. (jack transport would be so cool to have.) wink-wink

Four orca-c instances with qjackctl and qsynth. You can see the four “qsynth instances”, Qsynth1, Qsynth2, etc. along the bottom of the GUI in the qsynth panel. Cheers.

Hi,
was watching this amazing patch

Was wondering what was happening with the code to the far right just above the bottom section marked modulations. There is an X operator - but just below there are two lines of commented out letters. Was wondering how the X was writing to both lines even tho the number to the left of X is always 1. Also what was reading the two strings in comments …
If this is your patch - hope you don’t mind! This sounds great and would love to know what is going on.
Thanks

OK - looks like its the Q operator…

How do I toggle little dots to show up on the grid permanently? I think it used to be called hard mode?

Just downloaded the newest version for win 64 (on 10) & it seems to no longer be on the menu list?

Maybe it was the shortcut Tab, but was recently replaced by Retina?

That mode no longer exists, if you need to display the dots momentarily, just selection a region, you should see the dots of the selected area. Orca-c will display all the dots, all the time.

Done

Hoping for these to surface eventually!

Hi there! Big fan, first time posting.

I’m trying to run the shift register patch from the examples/setup folder but it doesn’t work. I guess that the L operator (loop?) doesn’t work as it did in past releases…now it’s the ‘Less’ operator. Any way around this? Should I open an issue in the repo?

What’s the score with MIDI in at the moment? It seems that Orca used to receive clock on the selected input device but is no longer responsive, nor is the ‘&’ operator available. Are there any plans to bring these back?

Some soft warm Orca goodness with the OP-1 last night.

I’m getting Orca obsessed! I seem to always want to have multiple Orca windows to play with. Since @L4COUR post on connecting to Minimoog iOS app, decided to try opening Logic for the first time. Let me know what you think of the music.

super cool @magfoto, I think you got a very nice evolving melody. I’m glad that I have inspired you to explore ORCA. Keep up the good work!

@guardabrazo The shift register would have to be rewritten, if you’re up for it, don’t open an issue, instead make a PR with the updated version that uses the latest revisions to the scope

I don’t use orca to receive midi data, so it’s not something I actively develop or fully understand, if a fix ever comes to that department, it won’t be from me. If somebody is up to it, I’d welcome a PR. But the best way to achieve this is to fully control orca’s clock over UDP. That’s how I do it, it’s a lot more reliable.
