Aah! That’s amazing, still watching the video but it’s perfect!
I’ve added it to the language specific tutorials on the repo.

edit: Spotted an issue with e haha.

Try using OSC instead with = and Udprecive in Max I managed to connect straight away. If its tricky try using different ports. It sometimes blocks the port.

yeah - I found later that using the _osc.orca example worked just fine both with max and norns. There may be something odd/different about how the data is being sent with the UDP op.

yeah not sure whats wrong with it. I just used OSC instead and sticked with it.

Hello, cool appz!
trying to send some note to Pilot from another soft, wondering if there’s a specific address to start ?
i try this kind of message :
/pilot/04Cf on port 49161

I think just 04Cf should be enough and both should use same port obviously. I would use same msg as in Orca Pilot example basically.

Thanks,
yes, i’ve also test this, but no answer from Pilot, that’s why i’m looking further

I would try different port. (If you haven’t yet)

That looks like OSC, and not UDP.
Try sending 03C, via UDP, to 0.0.0.0:49161

ok, thanks, will try this

Turning off Overbridge Engine was the solution. Running ORCA w/ PILOT at normal temp now.

Started messing about with Orca yesterday and it’s so much fun! Created this extremely basic sequence running three instances of operator and a sampler in Live. I’ll definitely be spending more time with this

@piearesquared @nay-seven I’m happy to see you enjoy Orca!

Orca x Norns

@its_your_bedtime is working on a port of Orca for the Norns here.

Updated Orca

  • M was replaced with Multiply, was modulo.
  • Added paste over, with cmd+shift+v.
  • Lowercase operators can now read bangs that are overlapping their ports. like *i4
  • Created a series of tutorials.

Haven’t figured out how to do anything terribly useful yet, but this is exciting nonetheless!

I’ve been preparing some cool patterns for a big show next month.

@neauoire Is the transpose table portion of the readme incorrect? It states

The midi operator interprets any letter above the chromatic scale as a transpose value, for instance 3H , is equivalent to 4C

but that isn’t making sense to me. Should it actually read as follows?

The midi operator interprets any letter above the chromatic scale as a transpose value, for instance 3H , is equivalent to 4A .

Thanks and having a lot of fun getting started!

Just tried the @its_your_bedtime Norns version that is tied to the Timber sampler app - awesome. Interestingly you get access to the sample pitches / sample start times in Orca and all the Softcut parameters are in the menu. So theoretically you should be able to CC those additional parameters in Orca also.

@sasquatchfuzz There was indeed a mistake in the docs  I’ve just corrected it, thanks for spotting it.
