I feel like a noob for even asking, but how do you reset? :grimacing:

Edit - Scratch that. I figured it out and the issue is resolved. Thanks @andrew. Such a classic script.

no prob : ) what you heard was probably caused by some combination of settings in both scripts – if it helps I can take a guess at what settings were getting you into the not nice sounding zone

I’d guess either ‘drive’, or just ‘level’ was cranked up high – both of those will increase the volume & potentially clip. maybe crackle/crinkle (I don’t remember what those do)

sounds like you probably had softcut’s rate down low, in wrms case via the the octave buttons (<< >>).

one of the cool (/ not cool) things about softcut is that the rate can be thought of as both the playback rate and the sample rate, so as you decrease rate the quality degrades (a-la bitcrushing, or more specifically sample-rate reduction). and since there’s a filter in front of softcut things will also get low-passed as you go down as well (I think wrms lets you disable the low-pass bit, if desired, via ‘aliasing’).

they’re pretty teeny but there is an indicator for each wrms’s octave in the center of the screen. if the brighter pixels start getting a ways below the line you’ll be in low sample rate territory

Thanks for the explanation, my dude.

Love this script so so much! I’m going to use it in an improvised set tonight!

I am wondering if it’s possible to save the scales in a preset? When I load a preset - it does not seem to remember the scale banks I used/saved with he preset. Am I doing something wrong?

I asked the same at some point, it seems to me this scale functionality is implemented in orgn but not orgnwrms.

i also had no life out of wrms side, turns out my “input engine” was -inf on parameters / softcut, fyi for those who had the same problem.

would it be possible to add jf as an output from orgn/orgnwrms (via crow), so that you could potentially have sound from both engines simultaneously? @andrew

i guess you’d be able to do this with eggs, no? hmm, maybe not play simultaneously but at least sequence…?

I’ve been dreaming about this feature for awhile now. Would be amazing.

Hello,

I’ve discorded the fantastic [

orgnwrms

](orgnwrms | norns community)

I’ve probably missed something. Orgn sound does’t go into the wrms. It’s as if i had Orgn and Wrms working as two different independant scripts. Is there someting to configure ? Maybe it’s a rooting issue but i don’t know how to manage that.

Could anyone enlighten me about that ?

in advance, thanks !

Ben

after recording into the wrms buffers I don’t hear any playback at all. I see the wrms moving but no sound. does anyone have experience troubleshooting this?

quite high! not getting anything  i hear the orgn clearly but the wrms don’t playback at all.

when you go into the parameters menu (edit > levels) softcut is up ? are you able to record external sounds into wrms ?
