I’m building a switch for my Batumi module, and could only source a 4hp panel (for reasonable price). So with the extra space I plan on making a passive multiple. Switches at the top, sockets at the bottom. My question… Should I go with 3x1:2 or 2x1:3? Not sure what would be most useful in the long term.
I’d be inclined to go with 3 x 1:2. You can always patch the individual sections together if you need a signal split more than than twice.
Another option (if you have panel space) is to add small switches that do the joining of individual sections for you. Saves on a bit of potential cable mess.

3x 1:2 with normals between the outputs of one multiple to the input of the next.
