Kickstarter will generally allow you to restructure and try again, but trying again without changing anything, or even explaining why you expect to be twice as successful the next time around, they’re never too keen on.
I’d say wait a bit, and come back when you can…
-
Put the new editor front and center
-
Show the next hardware iteration, and highlight its changes (red cursor buttons for clarity, higher screen framerate for LFOs), just to quickly demonstrate that the product has improved since we’ve last seen it
-
Make a new “overview” video, and place that in the “campaign video” slot since many users don’t even scroll far enough into the description to where your videos were this time.
-
Demonstrate specific hardware integrations (MPE demos w/ roli, linnstrument, sensel morph, Jouee, maybe KMI) and coordinate with those manufacturers to have them share your demos before and during the next campaign.
That’s more or less all I can think of right now.
(Out of curiosity, would there be any interest in a self contained version, like a more affordable System 8? Something midi-centric, perhaps? That would potentially create extra pledge levels, and draw interest from different markets.)
Anyway, I’d be happy to help on the video front, and I can bring an assortment of MPE controllers by.
Plus, NAMM’s just around the corner. Who knows what opportunities might arise there?
So, yeah. Running theme: don’t give up yet.
I’m sure you’re exhausted right now, but maybe hold off on a “the project is dead” announcement until NAMM is behind you.
