Thanks for the comparison.

I’m just a plain Jane musician and don’t really need a scope at all; it’s mainly to fulfill curiosity.

As I’m trying to maintain a relatively compact setup, the Jones appeals more, although I like the expanded functionality of the Mordax too. Given price/functionality, the Mordax is probably the slightly better value, but with a size penalty. On the other hand, I really can’t stand the whole ‘pre-order something half a year ahead of hoped-for release’ aspect of Eurorackland and that kind of takes the Mordax out of the running until it shows up in stores. They’ve said they’ll have some limited retail distribution, and that’s good. When both are available, I’ll see if I can lay hands/eyes on them and decide then.

This arrived today. Not sure what it is about them, but I absolutely love quadrature LFOs. So far I’ve just put it through its paces on a scope so I can figure out what all the switches and knobs do. It’s got a really interesting flip input (third from the left on the bottom row) that changes the direction of the saw from rising to falling . It made some really interesting shapes when driven from another oscillator. The gate mode of the sync input is also pretty cool as you can momentarily disable the LFO. Probably lots of crazy cross-modulation opportunities here too. I haven’t even tried it in audio range yet! It’s probably going to spend most of the time connected to the QMMF-4.

Finally filled up the entire rig! Been a long time coming and it’ll probably change (read: grow ) but it finally feels like my system.

Accompanied by: Grid 128, BeatStep Pro, Push 1, PO-12, Korg PolySix, Nord Lead 1, Moog Minitaur, and Elektron Rytm. Hopefully soon an Octatrack and OP-1 will join the family too.

Your set was great, by the way. Perfect length for your very engaging piece. Really enjoyed it.

Just about filled my rack with the addition of 3 Sisters recently. Haven’t even had a chance to try it as a filter yet, I’m having so much fun with it self oscillating with some fm self patching.

I’ll also include the latest track I recorded over the weekend - bassline is 3 Sisters going through Ripples: https://m.soundcloud.com/machinex2/calaveras-skulls
