Also I did not say this in my first post (but it is in the bio on her instagram) but she does take commissions for totally new controller layouts too. She’s just about to start working on one that’s 12 buttons (in a chromatic / keyboard like configuration), 6 knobs and 6 sliders. That will be pretty cool I think. Also future projects include D beam style motion sensing (she’s done this with CV already for me to use with my eurorack gear) and XY joysticks.

glamour shots and sounds to come once i get all the necessary box hardware and knobs, but i finally got all of my @mlogger ciat lonbarde paper circuits up, running, and mounted!! been working on this for the last couple months while planning a wedding, so things moved pretty slowly.

the circuits within are: 3, 4, 5, and 6 roll, gongs, av dog, ultrasound filters, rando, slope, dogvoice, gerassic organ. all powered by a 9v battery (gotta add an on/off switch). box is from michael’s, drilled and stained at home.

the closest thing i can compare the sound to is an the folk music of an ancient insectoid alien race (but like i said, sounds to come).

Wow this is incredible. Would love love love to hear some sounds. I’ve been lurking on the CL thread, I have a ton of interest but very limited soldering knowledge (took one class in college.) Was this a tough build?

thank you!! do it!! i had extremely limited soldering knowledge prior to getting started with this project, and just learned on the fly. some of the circuits were harder than others (cramped spacing, single-sided boards that require soldering from the top), but generally it was more time consuming than anything else. wiring them all together once they were individually complete was probably the toughest part - daisy-chaining power, ground, and audio between 10 tiny PCBs was a serious patience test. happy to DM with more details/answers to more specific q’s!

fwiw, i’m definitely not done with the CL boards - i’m looking forward to building/housing more rollz, more dogvoice, more av dogs, some of the esotericas, and at least one of the solar sounders in the near future. the whole ecosystem is freaky and cool and sounds awesome.

agreed, and all the spaghetti packed in there actually causes some “patching” from components/ exposed wire on various boards touching each other that shouldn’t be touching each other. i’m sure there’s some way to mitigate that (a bigger box would do it) but i think i’m just going to roll with it.

she currently has a lot on her plate! But the next time things slow down for a bit I definitely want to talk to her about CV outs. It would be awesome and is a pretty untapped market compared to MIDI. So hopefully that will be coming soon!

DIY’d a 1u faceplate for Nearness. That end cut looks rough because I cut this blank panel to size with a drill + nibbler maybe someday I’ll make a nicer one. TXi is up next.

Streams your pc to a resizable virtual screen in the Oculus Go headset. You can use the controller, but also just your mouse and keyboard. Which you would need for productivity work. I have a reclining chair with a mouse and keyboard by it. So I do a lot of the ‘dumb’ editing on that Go headset, have Netflix running beside Ableton, because the (virtual) screen is that big. I’m doing a lot of sample slicing atm.

(Speaking of that does anyone know a good wav file batch converter for pc? I need to convert my samples to different bitrates for different apps/machines)

Upgraded my Chinese kareoke echo module with more playable knobs and also swapped the 10k output resistor for a 1k since it was a bit quiet before. Probably other mods I could do to get the in & out levels more balanced but leaving well enough alone for now

@AlessandroBonino is right! They’re Sifam “Intellijel-style” knobs from Thonk! I bought them for a massive DIY project that seems like it’ll be on hold for the foreseeable future, and I figured it would be fun to ditch the blue to match the color-scheme a little better.

I think that Sifam knobs ARE actually the Mannequins knobs, so if you wanted, you could get even closer resemblance than I did.
