Thank you, that’s the noise from the Fusebox, it’s so atmospheric going through the filter.

Here’s my little setup I’ve brought to our October vacation in the country. I’m enjoying experimenting with variations in my usual workflow induced by the trimmed down setup and divergence from my usual multi-EastCoast voicing. Rather inspired by the beautiful Shropshire Autumn.

I didn’t know what I was doing with the Korg DS-10 software when it came out. Now I’m trying to figure out how to make some ambient music with it.

Finally have gameboy cartridge writing technology which actually works on a mac and can flash $3 alibaba fake pokemon carts as opposed to $80 custom flashcarts.

The setup I will most likely be working with for some time. I just got the yellow Impo function generator. I bought it for the fm input. Lots of lovely tones with this combination.

What to do while running the full mix of a 12 minute piece through your rack for extra processing? Turn off the lights and take a photo.

Recently put together this 4ms pod - I like to think of it as a ‘Soundhack 0-Coast’! Only just starting to dive in but it’s clear the potential of this thing is going to be massive!

Received the Heat yesterday for my birthday (yes @Molotov it’s been hiding in a wardrobe for nearly two months). Loving it and really impressed how much it can totally transform a sound. I’m away for a long weekend with just this set up so plenty of time to properly learn my way around the Heat and Mimeophon.

A tidy little noise machine you have made there!

Hi. I’m a big fan of the plumbutter and am thinking about the Shtar and see you have one. Does it need its usb interface for it to produce any audio output? Also is there any of the synth built into it or does that also require the usb interface? Thanks!

It makes sound standalone. The USB port is to charge, reprogram stuff, and also stream data to your computer (if you want).

Internally, it has all of the Shnth/Fish synth capabilities, so tons to program/edit/change/alter, or you can just use existing patches. Then there’s a couple of onboard modes, so either combining the signals, or an (analog) ring modulator, ala the oldschool Namasitar.

Thank you! That’s really helpful.

Got a new (old) noise/sample source for my birthday. I just love the look of old shortwave radios, and this one in particular reminds me of an MS-20.

What magic is this???

was a bit of a struggle to compile it, I have no idea what I’m doing with such stuff but got thru it once I updated Xcode and followed this tutorial which is full of things i’d never in a million years have figured out that I needed to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9U42hqhdzA

Currently trying to figure out how to get it running as a Mac II with system 7 and quicktime (for its general midi instruments) so I can use Laurie Spiegel’s ‘Music Mouse’,which i actually bought from her a few years back!

If you just want to run classic mac stuff on a desktop/laptop then things are much easier: https://www.gryphel.com/c/minivmac/ or also Sheepshaver which can also do later models/systems up to OS 9

I honestly have no idea. I’m not sure it’s that bad. And in my case it’s just two units, not a whole wall of old equipment like Hainbach on Youtube. I think he might have done a video on it. If not, go contact him and ask about it - he seems like a pleasant guy.
