He may have, but, yep, this is an English idiom- it means to do something like someone else.

Looks super cool. How are you using the radio in a live set?

I’ll tune it to some talk radio, but on single sideband so the signal gets frequency shifted and inject that into the feedback somewhere. Fade it in and out to get some garbled voices and noise floating around in the patch.

Sounds pretty cool. Please share some audio should you record a set.

Will do! I believe the host is planning to do a video, as well.

Finally built my Bad Digital Filter Simulator. Only took two rounds of spotting missed - and reflowing bad - solder joints.

Still trying to figure out how it works/what it even does but seems promising

I do love that about NLC builds (with actual affection). Even when it’s done, you’re not sure because there’s not any real way to tell if it’s working correctly.

my old 40h kit, plus my new norns diy box, porting something that I wrote in max/msp 10+ years ago.

So grateful this platform exists.

Just picked up this lovely pair from a goodwill this afternoon. One powers on, but one had a corroded battery stuck in it. I’ve managed to get it extricated but it still doesn’t turn on, even though the connections appear clean enough. Any thoughts? I’d like to try recording with a dictaphone stereo array haha

The advantage in having two is not really stereo, but delay. The amount of delay is set by how far apart you push the play/record buttons.

Another thing to try is recording the same sequence on both, then playing one back at half speed, the other normal speed for some nice polyphony.

I’ve got one of that model. It’s kind of nifty, but on mine to play it back (not to record) I have to hold the play button down with my finger or it stops itself. I’ve also had no luck with the mic input, so the couple of times I’ve used it, I put it between my headphones and wrapped a towel around it for some semblance of isolation

Here’s a shot of my rig from a show that I played last Saturday. This was my first time bringing my newest modular case out for a solo set, featuring the ER-301 / 16n Faderbank combo, as well as an Instruo Cś-L. I had intended to use the Cś-L in a stereo-heavy patch utilizing the Touché driving a pair of VCAs and an XPan into a Mimeophone, but unfortunately somewhere along the trip to the venue the rear board of the Cś-L became partially unplugged from the front board rendering the Cś-L as inoperable.
