I can totally recommend @corpusjonsey for one of these. I bought one from him last year and I’m buying one again only because the converter went away with a trade.

Ooooo… I’m inching ever closer to a hardware modular - So far, the most compelling seems MakeNoise, and I’d probably start w/an audio “processor”. That said, I LOVE the wood-encased one below, and wondering what it’s comprised of. The jacks remind me of a Serge - due to color scheme.

Here’s the new rig, stripped for now of the chaos and endless possibilities that the Octatrack brings in favor of a smaller, more reliable, and more modular focused setup which I plan to start doing gigs with at the beginning of next year. Though it clocks the modular and sometimes adds percussion elements, the A4 is mostly used as a glorified multi-FX processor with lots of hands on effect controls provided by the novation MIDI controller.

Additionally Ciat-lonbarde is VERY appreciated by fellow liners and you can find much more about the philosophy and design choices behind these instruments on this topic Mobenthey/Ciat-Lonbarde (synthmall) thread

Thanks! Gonna freak some people out when I bring it out as a gig rig sometime haha.

Set up and pre packing for a recent collaborative show. I enjoy travelling so light but am still envious of my collab partner’s Lyra + pedal set up

This is my last purchase of sound-making machines for the year. I must admit that I’m very confused just by looking at this thing.

Had a great concert last week showcasing @tremblap’s machine learning tools (FluCoMa). There will be tons more pics/video(/software) forthcoming, but for now wanted to show some of the pics of my setup, and the assembly line of 3d-printed housings I made for @nevvkid’s automat.

Dark, slightly blurry pic of my stage setup:

automat assembly/adjusting line:

A mid performance still (from some footage @Angela filmed):

And finally/unrelatedly, although this doesn’t look like much, this will be me @Angela’s new CNC machine(!):

Never been able to work out how that module would work in practice but I hear great things about it. Supposed to be great for melodies!

The only thing missing is more clock sources

A-152 is such a cool module. The voltage-addressed switch alone is worth it. Plus you get the other two columns for free on top of that. Feed a very slow CV into the CV in, and use that to compositionally arrange your piece. When the CV hits voltage 1, section A of the piece plays. When it hits voltage 2, section B plays, etc.

It also works great with audio sources and modulation. Plug in multiple sources - different outputs of an oscillator, maybe Just Friend’s individual outs if you have that - and feed it a modulation signal. Audio into the CV can be really interesting.

Alternately, take a single audio source, and patch it via the switch outs to multiple processing destinations, and cycle through those rhythmically.

If you’re using the clock, the digital outs are handy for firing reset so that you can shorten the ‘steps’ in your switch sequence. If you’re using CV to modulate, you can just attenuate the incoming CV to target a more limited set of switches.

Note this remark from the Doepfer site on the clock in:

Remark: The clock signal that is fed into the Clock In socket has to be GND referenced to the A-100 frame. The reason for this is a recognition circuit at the clock input that is used to decide if the module is clock controlled or voltage controlled. For this recognition the GND pin of the Clock In socket is used. If an external clock signal is used (i.e. not coming from a module mounted into the A-100 frame where the A-152 is mounted) the GND reference is missing and the recognition circuit does not work (with the result that the clock input does not work). But there is a simple workaround: as soon as both systems are connected by means of any other patch cable that way the GND reference is established.

I am not at home at the moment, but this makes me want to rack the module and see if there are issues with the clock in. It sounds like if your clock source is within the same case, it should not be an issue.

My new eurorack setup. If you’re in the Boston area you’re welcome to come play with it.

Thank you (and @xenus_dad) for the tips! I bought it basically just because of the voltage-addressed switch since I needed a sequential switch. The other features is just a bonus, T&H is something that I really don’t fully can wrap my head around though.
I got this real cheap from a person here in Sweden that has been trying to sell it för a while, and I had a 16hp hole that was staring at me, so I thought I’d give it a try.
Regarding the external clock source I tried with my Grandmother (the synth that is) and it worked like a charm. But isn’t it kind of clicky with audio (I’ve heard it’s quite common when it comes to sequential switches)?

As usual with a new confusing module the first patch was a total mess:
