I love it! <3 Is it mobile enough for live performance?

Love the case! Is it custom or a wrapped Intellijel? What’s the material?

It is a custom case! That’s some material I bought at the French Market in New Orleans. Got some rails from some online supplier(MDLR?) but it is the intellijel 1U size.

looks like attenuation to me…

Preparing for our gig in East London this Sunday. Had forgotten how much fun ProtienDS is, lofi glitch pseudo-turntablism!

as someone who keeps a stock intel cooler around just because it makes a nice sound and for no other reason whatsoever, this picture brought me joy. curious to know your favourites in this … structure

:)) I think that’s exactly what it is, things that sound good to me, that I had been collecting for a long time…I saw that I could put everything together in a kind of box, to use with the Koma field kit, but I ended up giving up buying it. I’m using it directly with eurorack.
I started with an open accordion that belonged to my mother as a child and all those structures inside it already produced an interesting machinery sound when captured via piezo. little by little I added other elements that I used to prepare the guitar, chosen with a lot of love, all of them have a special meaning. Springs and loose bass strings, bells, coolers and different types of metals. these circular coolers have a lot of harmonics, like a kalimba, try rubbing a simple coin around it circularly. Is currently prepared with 6 piezos contact microphones ( >> M.I.Ears) and the spring reverb goes to a moogerfooger’s rack

ISO-acoustics are well worth it in my opinion

The old Terminal is such a great module! Tight function generators, pleasantly clipping opto filters, and the 12 bit delay. So strange that the “grand” terminal successor switched to dsp filters and dsp multi effects.

I use this as a texture synthesiser, FX unit and mixer (complete with nasty end-of-chain DC571 compressor). The fx and mixing mainly serve Blackbox and an UltraRollz Farm Detective. Almost guaranteed to entertain for hours on end.

BOSS RPS-10, one of the first pieces of noise gear I bought circa 2000 (from the weird “Buy & Sell” shop opposite the police station, who would grumpily refuse to buy or sell most things except for air rifles, knives and bongs. Definitely seemed like a front for something, crammed with amazing junk with 10-x-the-actual-value prices, which they would absolutely refuse to budge on)

Still one of my favorite and most used fx, I have two now and can’t remember if this is actually the original one or not come to think of it

These Boss half rack things all have a very weird pitch tracking control input too, it’s supposed to track a clean sine from a synth but makes crazy glitch from other inputs. I plan to modify those inputs (remove the switched jack connection and replace with a switch on the front panel) because I haven’t experimented with this enough

Getting back in the work zone after some noise issues and a ski trip. Some serious routing trade-offs in this little case, but my plan is to use this for some west coast shows this summer. If I’m not settled on this, it’s certainly dang close!

That’s a beautiful case. Is it one of those Needham cases, or did you make it? Or something else?

Yep! Picked it up from his shop in SF and got a nice tour of the place.
