Hehe yeah, that’s @tremblap 's amp, which is a custom one from what I remember. Huddersfield did some work with Matamp for some audio analysis/testing, and some of the staff got nice custom ones made.

It wasn’t my plan, but really happy with them! They are made of the same stuff as the “body” of the case. A bit tough to screw in as it’s thicker than the screws are long, but the plastic is soft enough to ‘smush’ to make room.

I’m sure it will change too, but quite pleased with the color palette of the modules I have a the moment.

@Rodrigo @active yes custom made. We worked with them to bring their measurement in the 21st century (with the HIRT developed with Alex Harker) - they used to still measure their amp’s specs with a function generator and multimeter… painfully long. I found out that one of the EQ knob was not working and they had to backtrack 11 instances before finding the fault  I also got them to put less distorting preamp valves to get clean and dirty (it used to go to 100% dirt in 10% of the gain turn) and to get the direct out post-post-volume. Andy was fantastic. You can hear modular synths going through it in the 2nd Splice album (on Loop Records) should you fancy hearing pumping valves!

Got my Plonk back in the mail after having to send it back in for repairs (it was faulty on arrival). Intellijel sent this super nice magnet to keep me company while figuring out all of the functionality!

Hah, I’m quite a fan of both Warren Ellis the British writer and Warren Ellis the Australian musician but I thought of the writer first and then had to mentally adjust to make that photo make sense  .

Picked up Ansible from EFN today! Now I just have to wait for my Grid 128 to arrive from the US, hopefully before new years. A little painful, but I’m sure it is well worth the wait. As you can see I got a lot of other stuff to fiddle around with in the meantime : - )

(edit: there’s nothing really to see patch wise here, just fired it up for lights)

Don’t forget - you can connect a USB MIDI device to Ansible, as it acts as a USB host…to get you through these dark weeks

As an aside - MMG has been on my list as “the filter I’d most likely get when I decide to get a filter”. I just heard they’re out of production. Still available from a few places, but - soon to be a collectible!

Cool, have they any stock left. I looked online the other day and they were out.

Looks like they’re out now, but I spoke with Ulf at EFN a couple of days prior and he said he believed to have two/three in stock at that moment. This was a week ago! So you could try emailing him : - )

Yeah, I’ll try that out for sure! : - )

I wanted something more than the traditional filter in terms of subtractive synthesis, and the MMG was actually one of the first modules I got as it could replace the use of a VCA (as LPG) before I got the ModDemix. I’m not that experienced yet so I can’t compare the MMG to other filters, but I really like the sound and bite of it. I heard that it is going out of production because of some sort of component that will soon be banned, or something like that? Anyways, I thought it would be a cool module to hold as they run out. I’m sure Make Noise will follow up with something in the near future. Hoping for a wavefolder maybe, like the one in the 0-coast, which sounds really good IMO!

Vactrols, because of cadmium in the photoresistance, will be banned in the EU (because of RoHs) in 2019. So Excelitas decided to halt production. That’s what I remember.

From what I understand, vactrols have been banned in the EU, so most manufacturers are phasing them out of their products.

A further update from the 3d printed drum brackets I posted earlier.

I finally test fitted them on my snares, and the combination of a “little” top and regular bottom gives me the most flexibility across snare sizes and types. And hair ties appear to be the material of choice for attaching the thing to a snare.

I’ve ordered some shorter adjustment bolts and wingnuts to make the whole thing more compact and easily adjustable.
