Oh, duh. Gonna be a good year!

Ha! I just sold my CX5M carts on eBay. Still have a pair of CX5Ms in storage somewhere in various stages of disrepair…

my hot secret was that the Palo Alto / Stanford area Craigslist could sometimes be a goldmine of old FM gear from aging mathematicians / engineers who got hyped on Chowning, bought tons of the more esoteric Yamaha FM stuff back in the day then had nothing to do with it 30 years later.

I hope this is acceptable to the thread…

The Ableton creative spaces photos are a guilty pleasure of mine. I know its marketing but they always draw me in. Anyway… can someone identify the USB/fader box sitting on the desk to the left? Very curious as to what it is…

Another one, a slightly wonky chandler (?) loop.

It is Iftah Gabbai’s custom, home-built MIDI control box. Iftah is half of Skinnerbox.

comparing the photos-- ableton promo vs. attack mag overhead studio shot-- absence of 2 monome grids, sudden appearance of push 2

i’m laughing really it’s ok

was thinking exactly the same thing hahahaha

oh wait i found the push2, it’s hiding outside the circle, behind the moog

In looking at the other photos, the Push2 and the laptop (running Ableton) get moved around to be in the shot. There is some other sort of controller sitting atop the keyboard rack where the laptop is that disappeared for the promo shot.

The controller on top of the keyboard rack in the other photos looks like a Livid DS1.

My Grid 128 finally arrived today! Haven’t been this exited playing music since…forever. Having such a great time! Been smiling all day : - ) what a great device! Going to be so much fun getting to know this thing. Purchasing Max 7 tomorrow!
