I have not been in the modular headspace for the last 3 months, so I made the decision to put it away this weekend and focus on this more minimal setup. So far so good.

Yeah I think I follow this thread since it started and even I couldn’t remember it was the original message (and didn’t try to go check what the original message was !). Anyhow, naming things well matters I think ! So yep, great choice. (I even validate “sound-making machines” over gear or tools or whatever)

Here’s my current setup, residing in a little messy musical corner of the living room.

I haven’t worked out why but I so prefer having things in there than in my studio upstairs! Something about involving the creative process in all aspects of my life perhaps?

The setup for the past week. Including loads of hard computer processing.
All your setups are too neat and clean.

Setting up on the bar cart is just genius. How are you liking the deluge?

Yes it adds suitable lubrication!

Love the Deluge. It’s the centrepiece of my setup, and extremely versatile. Its portability and ability to sequence the modular fits perfectly into my workflow.

Now we see why you want to be downstairs

Thoughts on the Drezno/Lipsk combo? I’ve been intrigued by these two, but the demos I’ve watched never quite clicked with me. How are you using them?

I’m using the Drezno mainly to generate gates from continuous signals, it’s quite fun. I have just mounted the Lipsk so I have no opinions on that yet.

I really liked the use of Drezno in this video.

It lives!!!

My power supply ended up getting lost in customs for two agonizing weeks with no indication of whether or not it had actually arrived in the US. But I went with the Konstant Lab BoardPWR and it’s perfect–super low profile and more than enough power for what I can fill this thing with. The final module layout will be different but I wanted to just get some modules in there and have something playable in the meantime. It’ll be a few months yet before I can afford all the final modules but I’m already having some good fun with this!

I decided against including any sort of cable holder or anything in the lid. It makes the most sense to just be able to close the lid and carry it around while patched, and it makes a great place for stickers which I usually don’t want to put on the outside of my instruments.

Should I ever need a new artist name, Bonus Boris would be pretty great.

That’s lovely! Is it a wine bottle holder?

Or should I say ‘was it’!

Yeah, it was a wine bottle holder that I found at a thrift shop for $2 so I figured there was no reason not to take it home to do some measurements and see if this was possible. Lucked out with how perfectly sized it is for a euro system! I’ll have to come up with a wine pun of a name for it…

How did you attached the rail; brackets? Glue?
