May I ask what sort of flight case you’re using for your 3U unit there? It looks perfect for my needs, as I’ve been considering a Happy Ending kit but I also need it to be portable and cat-proof.

Can you close it patched?

Looks like a Pulp Logic Lunchbox

( @dianus - congrats on the builds, they look nice! I’ve both sitting unfinished for an embarrassingly long time )

Sorry, I was referring to the one in the first picture- it’s housing a Happy Ending kit!

cool, thanks. @P1505
In process…
Setting up an iOS system
(iPad mini 5)
Getting into Beatmaker3, AUM, Bram Bos, Audio Damage, etc…
Plugged in a Sure 578 with an Apogee Jam96k
Sounds like this…

And this one’s me on vocals, and some the Filterstation2

@vhall the flight case is a Moog 84hp with a TipTop HEK (https://www.moogaudio.com/en/all/modular-synths/power-cases/multi-caisse-modular-case-84hp-3u) It’s available here locally in Canada. Really great rugged traveler and good for stacking. One nit-pick, the panel sits very vertical and it doesn’t fit most guitar stands to angle it.

@mutedial Thanks!!! the 73-75 was sitting in my backlog for a long time too. It’s a very daunting project to get started

@t3h the 73-75 isn’t a difficult build but it is not a beginner project either. Documentation from zthee is a bit sparse but you can fill in all the gaps from the CGS archive. It’s pretty tedious depending on how you put it together, there are two ways panel style and serge wire wrap. I mounted mine panel style, which means it’s soldered directly to the front-panel so you want to make sure the entire circuit is working perfectly before you mount it. I had to de-solder one panel which was a huge pain :expressionless:

There’s a little metal working involved too. The panel doesn’t fit a r*s boat, mine was mounted in two hammond boats (https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/Hammond-Manufacturing/1444-1773?qs=KZicGfxjZ21IpJOSVDt0eQ%3D%3D) you have to mount the spring-reverb and power supply into the case and I joined both sides with bolts. More than happy to answer any DIY questions in the serge thread!

wow thats some good engineering. I really was surprised to see that case. The second thing that went trough my head was maybe to fit actual plate reverb instead of spring tank…
Cool build.

Find: Microbrute
Replace: Reface CS

(I like it quite a bit. I think I might keep the Microbrute for the moment and get a two-tier stand. I’ll also want a handy way to switch audio between them, or a minimal mixer or something

Coming up with some new ideas for modular with Mellotron and norns for an upcoming performance:

Just downsized my case so that I can take it on tour in Mongolia in July. LOVING how it feels playing out of a 7u compared to the 12u I was getting used to! Instantly more focused and a great sense of minimalism and sensibility. Also picked up an OG Make Noise QMMG that is blowing the high expectations that I had of them! Made a lot of compromises to fit it in, but it feels right.

Shout if you want to sell. And you are UK or happy to ship to UK. I may be interested.

Hell of a set up you have!

I’m liking it so far. Right now, I’m using MLR and it’s really playable over a backing track from the Deluge. This might be obsolete with firmware 3.0 tho.

Thanks! Unfortunately I’m in the UK so shipping from Moog Audio would be expensive but I’ve started looking at 19" rackmount cases over here as expandable solutions instead, which I hadn’t really considered before.

oh im not selling anything for a bit! the deluge just arrived last week. @Jonathan_Riley yeah im reaaally hoping 3.0 adds some MLR like playability. The looper is gonna be fun no matter what.

I see you’ve got a wireless keyboard set up with your Teletype. Any recommendations for wireless keyboard without a number pad?

Not that I know of. My criteria was it had to switch smoothly between PC and Teletype, and I found a couple of Logitech keyboards that do it.
