Your setups is lovely. Is that a Grau case?

Edit: did some creeping and it is. Looks fantastic!

would you mind detailing the mods on your PMD-222?

Well, I bought it from Onde Magnetique, a boutique manufacturer of a tape-driven mellotron sort of gizmo. He also mods PMD-222’s on the side, which he did for me. Check out his website and that can give you all the details. I got it sixth months ago, in a moment of elation, when I got an advance for a book I wrote, then had to finish the book, so it’s only now that I’m really getting to use it. Good catch on your part: the unit’s at the corner of the shot.

Yes, a custom 7U 65hp one, love it. Well crept.

Reconfigured the whole 12u last night.

Waiting on a Radio Music to fill up that last 4hp and considering eliminating Sprott, Fourses, and Let’s Splosh in favor of a Rainmaker. But not today, no, not today…

I’m glad I’m not the only one recording stereo into a Zoom! Any idea if he does pulp logic format 1u rows on those cases?

Nice! Both the environment as well as your sound-making machines!

How are you liking the 1U row in the middle (as compared to on the top where the intellijel cases put it)?

Grau does whatever you want. This was a custom job with custom measurements so I’m sure they’d do a case with pulp logic 1U too. It just takes a bit longer as they have to make the template for it.

1U in the middle is very nice as it’s closer to everything. I wonder why Make Noise seems to be the only one who have the 1U utility row in the middle.

I think one of the reasons Intellijel have decided on the top is due to the rear I/O on their cases and their associated 1u modules, which are more useful at the top. This also means less internal cabling issues.

But certainly for multiples and utilities it makes much more sense in the middle.

Very good point. My bigger case is an Intellijel 7U but I only have the audio I/O that uses the rear ports so I didn’t think of that. Makes sense.

I was planning on a Make Noise case 'cos I thought I’d find the CV bus very useful in that position.

I had totally disregarded the Intellijel case and thought the rear ports would be useless to me, but after finding a few positives to the case including more headers (on the 104HP version) and threaded inserts, I realised that the newer audio board is very flexible, so I am planning to use two jack sockets for bringing a Novation Peak in (Intellijel have a 1U stereo line in planned), and the other two jacks as an effects send to a Quadraverb, so I can go without a mixer.

If you have an Expert Sleepers module, or a Pam’s you can in addition use the MIDI ports, I am hoping I can use one for Din-Sync to a TR-606.

With two 7u systems using the joiner plates I can see redundancy with the top 1U position and focus on I/O.

that’s a very organized space.

kudos on the zen vibes. super trying to declutter my own room atm

beautiful case. did you build it yourself?

Appears to be a Saw&Solder case. He does great work.

Really nice touch with the pre-drilled holes, for expanding IO

@boboter @c_c thanks! indeed a saw & solder, good catch. this is a custom build i worked on with him.

I recently upgraded my cymbals, and bought some nice “grown up” ones.

I’ve literally owned the same hats/ride for 15+ years, and have loved them, but I wanted something different.

I found some used Meinl Sand Hats, and a really cool looking ‘white’ Vintage Pure Light Ride (22"). Both sound so much rawer/trashier than my previous oldschool Zildjian ones.

Also got a few things cooking on the desk.

Working on some cool Shtar stuff (I don’t remember what’s loaded on it, but possibly some @mlogger and/or @wednesdayayay patches, along with a couple patches I made a while back)

Also started sketching some gamepad->modular ideas yesterday, so going to whip up something that uses some of the core ideas from Cut Glove, but mapping it to the ES-8. Quite different/tricky as I only have 8 CV sources I can send out, so have to make the most of them.

And in the middle is a hunk of lignum vitae (super heavy/dense wood) which I want to have a Dax made out of (with my 3D printed prototype sitting on top of it (the first thing I ever designed in Fusion!)).
