Yeah I had also been curious—entranced even—by the Ciat Lonbarde stuff, but couldn’t rationalize buying anything from there if I didn’t sell most of my eurorack. So I figured I’d try the IFM stuff and forget (haha) about the CL gear. I’ve only just received what I have, and haven’t had a ton of time to really deep dive. They’re really interesting… The voltage manipulation you can do is really odd, and my impression so far is that you have to work really hard patching and attenuating to find a sweet spot. The texture of the sounds produced by Fourses is really special in my opinion, but again, can easily become chaos. The whole system feels crackly, noisey, hissy, sudden, distant, and grindy. So far I’m liking results where I vca the audio from the IFM setup using slow modulated lfos and envelopes. Can kind of achieve something there.
